I'm a Celebrity is set to return next month with the reality show having relocated to North Wales.

Participants will be based in Gwrych Castle in Abergele this autumn amid the coronavirus pandemic, and it's a very special occasion for I'm a Celebrity as it will be celebrating its 20th series on ITV.

It's no surprise that it's difficult to remember who previously won, so here's a reminder of all the winners.

There's been rumours that producers want former contestants to return to mark the anniversary, so could some of these past winners be preparing for another stint on the show?

Series One (2002) - Tony Blackburn

The first series of I'm a Celebrity was broadcast on ITV between August and September 2002.

It was won by DJ Tony Blackburn, who was joined in the final by runner-up Tara Palmer-Tomkinson.

Blackburn described the show as a "once in a lifetime experience" and said he'd had a "brilliant" time.

Series Two (2003) - Phil Tufnell

The second series aired over April and May 2003, and was won by international cricketer Phil Tufnell.

The sportsman was crowned King of the Jungle after beating John Fashanu and Linda Barker in the final.

Tufnell later competed on Strictly Come Dancing and the Jump - though he failed to win either of these.

Series Three (2004) - Kerry Katona

Atomic Kitten's Kerry Katona won the third series of the I'm a Celebrity - which began in January 2004.

She wasn't the only memorable contestant that series though as Katie Price and John Lydon appeared.

Price met future husband Peter Andre in the jungle, with the latter a finalist alongside Jennie Bond.

Series Four (2004) - Joe Pasquale

Comedian Joe Pasquale was crowned winner of this series, beating Paul Burrell and Fran Cosgrave.

It was the first, and so far the only, year that two different instalments of the UK version were filmed.

The fourth series is perhaps most remembered for Burrell's unforgettable bushtucker trial though.

Series Five (2005) - Carol Thatcher

The fifth series saw journalist and Margaret Thatcher's daughter Carol Thatcher win I'm a Celebrity.

During her time on the show, Thatcher endured numerous trials - including eating kangaroo testicles.

And joining her in the final were former soap actors Sheree Murphy and Sid Owen.

Series Six (2006) - Matt Willis

Busted's Matt Willis was crowned the winner in 2006, beating Myleene Klass and Jason Donovan.

This series also featured EastEnders' Dean Gaffney - who provided some unforgettable trial footage.

Willis went on to co-present the ITV2 spin-off show with his wife Emma Willis in 2007 and 2008.

Series Seven (2007) - Christopher Biggins

Christopher Biggins won the seventh series, beating model Janice Dickinson and rapper Jason 'J' Brown.

The actor provided much entertainment, like when he panicked after finding a rat on his sleeping bag.

The series is also known for the controversial relationship between Cerys Matthews and Marc Bannerman.

Joe Swash won the eighth series, with Martina Navratilova and George Takei joining him in the final.

Gino D'Acampo won I'm a Celebrity in 2009, in the instalment which saw Katie Price make her return.

The series also featured Kim Woodburn and Jimmy White, with the former placing as runner-up.

There was however controversy after D'Acampo and others killed and ate a rat during the show.

Series Ten (2010) - Stacey Solomon

Stacey Solomon was crowned Queen of the Jungle in 2010, beating Shaun Ryder and Jenny Eclair.

The X Factor star even went on to present the ITV2 spin-off with future husband Joe Swash.

This series is most remembered for featuring nutritionist Gillian McKeith - who 'fainted' on live TV.

Series Eleven (2011) - Dougie Poynter

McFly's Dougie Poynter was declared champion of series eleven, broadcast in November 2011.

He won against the Only Way is Essex star Mark Wright in the final, after three weeks in the jungle.

The series also featured Olympian Fatima Whitbread and Coronation Street actor Anthony Cotton.

Series Twelve (2012) - Charlie Brooks

EastEnders favourite Charlie Brooks won in 2012 after making it to the final with Ashley Roberts.

Brooks returned to the BBC soap after winning, with Roberts joining Dancing on Ice as a judge.

Series Thirteen (2013) - Kian Egan

Westlife member Kian Egan won I'm a Celebrity in 2013, beating David Emanuel and Lucy Pargeter.

Oher campmates included Joey Essex, Amy Willerton, Rebecca Adlington and Alfonso Ribeiro.

This series was the most watched, with an average 11 million viewers, until the instalment in 2018.

Series Fourteen (2014) - Carl Fogarty

Motorcycle racer Carl "Foggy" Fogarty was crowned King of the Jungle back in 2014.

The series also featured runner-up Jake Quickenden, Melanie Sykes and Edwina Currie.

The most memorable participant was of course Gemma Collins though - who withdrew after three days.

Series Fifteen (2015) - Vicky Pattison

Viewers saw Geordie Shore star Vicky Pattison take home the crown in the fifteenth series.

Joining her in the final were Union J's George Shelley and the Only Way is Essex's Ferne McCann.

This series also featured Lady Colin Campbell - who's remembered for insulting fellow participants.

Series Sixteen (2016) - Scarlett Moffatt

Scarlett Moffatt won the sixteenth series - making it to the final with Joel Dommett and Adam Thomas.

The show catapulted the Gogglebox star to new heights, with Moffatt now a household name in TV.

This series also included Larry Lamb, Carol Vorderman, Sam Quek, Wayne Bridge and Jordan Banjo.

Georgia "Toff" Toffolo was the winner in 2017, beating Jamie Lomas and Iain Lee in the final.

The Made in Chelsea star also gained a friendship with Stanley Johnson through the show.

This series led to accusations of bullying - involving Rebekah Vardy, Dennis Wise and others.

Series Eighteen (2018) - Harry Redknapp

Football manager Harry Redknapp won I'm a Celebrity in 2018 after impressing ITV viewers.

Other participants included Emily Atack, John Barrowman, Anne Hegerty and Fleur East.

This series is reportedly the most watched of the franchise, with an average 12 million viewers.

Series Nineteen (2019) - Jacqueline Jossa

The most recent series, which aired last year, was won by former EastEnders actor Jacqueline Jossa.

This instalment featured a number of high profile stars, notably Caitlyn Jenner and Kate Garraway.

It was the first series to be broadcast after ITV introduced its ban on eating live bugs on the show.
