Entertainment Exclusive: Hollyoaks star Jorgie Porter on possible permanent return for Theresa McQueen

Hollyoaks star Jorgie Porter has revealed that she wants Theresa McQueen's comeback to become a permanent stay.

The actress has reprised her role as Theresa in time for the Channel 4 soap's 25th anniversary celebrations, which play out on screen next week.

Jorgie last played Theresa in 2016 but the show's bosses have wanted her back in the McQueen fold for a while.

The turning point for Jorgie came when she was invited back to star in Hollyoaks Does Come Dine With Me earlier this year.

Speaking exclusively to Digital Spy, Jorgie explained: "When we were filming Come Dine With Me, we had to shoot some things in the Hollyoaks studios.

"When I did come back to the studios, I thought: 'Hang on a minute, why am I not coming back? The crew's amazing, the cast are brilliant, it's a brilliant job. Who do I think I am?'

"I think they knew what they were doing when they asked me to do Come Dine With Me. I felt like they enticed me back."

Theresa's return storyline sees her caught up in the McQueen family's blackmail saga, as someone is threatening to expose their darkest secrets. This makes Theresa's fate uncertain for now.

JORGIE Porter is set to switch Hollyoaks for Hollywood as she makes a bid for US stardom. The actress has been auditioning for high profile acting roles and hopes to A source close to Jorgie told the Daily Star : "She's been working really hard to make a good impression and show what she can do.

However, asked how long Theresa is back for, Jorgie teased: "I think we have to wait and see. Obviously I know but I don't know what to say!

"It depends on what goes on with the McQueens – whether she stays or goes back to her kids. We'll have to wait and see whether people are excited for her to be back, I think.

"I absolutely love working here and I'm so grateful for the opportunities Hollyoaks has given me. Obviously I'd love to stay, but you just don't know what will happen. Hopefully they like me."

Hollyoaks currently airs new episodes from Mondays to Thursdays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first look screenings at 7pm on E4. Hollyoaks Does Come Dine With Me airs all next week at 7.30pm on E4.
