The Big Bang Theory star Kaley Cuoco is making her TV comeback in upcoming drama series The Flight Attendant and we've now been given our first proper look at the HBO Max show in a brand new trailer.

Cuoco, who is known for her role as Penny in long-running sitcom TBBT, plays flight attendant Cassandra Bowden, who wakes up with a major hangover in a Dubai hotel room one morning – only to discover that she's lying next to a dead man, with no idea of what happened the night before.

The first dramatic teaser clip for the show introduces us to Cassandra and reveals how she meets suave Alex (Game of Thrones and The Haunting of Hill House star Michiel Huisman) when he is a passenger on a flight she's working on. The pair are soon getting passionate in the plane toilet, enjoying a romantic boat trip and sharing dinner before heading back to Alex's hotel room – but things take a horrifying turn when Cassandra wakes up the next day.

Getting out of bed, she discovers blood on her hand and is terrified to realise that Alex is dead and covered in blood. But she's then seen lying to investigators that Alex was "so alive" when she woke up that day – a claim that seems to be haunting her.

She later confesses to her best friend (Girls actress Zosia Mamet) that the whole night is just "flickers" in her memory and it looks like she begins to unravel from this point on as she starts running from the FBI and drinking heavily, calling herself "a crazy drunk flight attendant, not a killer".

"I feel like I'm losing my mind," Cassandra says in a voiceover, as she hallucinates about Alex. But what really happened that night?

The eight-part drama series, which is based on Chris Bohjalian's novel of the same name, also stars Doctor Who's Michelle Gomez, The Originals star Colin Woodell and Birds of Prey actress Rosie Perez.

It will begin streaming on HBO Max on November 26. A UK broadcaster has not been confirmed.

The Flight Attendant will premiere its first three episodes on November 26 on HBO Max in the US. The Big Bang Theory aired on CBS and CBS All Access in the US. You can buy the complete boxset now on DVD and Blu-ray.
