In an interview with Stephen Colbert, Bruce Springsteen talked about the surprisingly uncomplicated recordings for his new album and his favorite songs by Bob Dylan.

Before the release of his new LP "Letter To You", the boss went to the "Late Show" with Stephen Colbert on Wednesday evening to beat the drum for his new songs (read HERE the RS review).

He also spoke in detail about the creation of the new pieces. He said the full album was written in just seven days and only took four days in the studio to record. It was inspired in large part by the death of his old friend George Theiss, the last surviving member of Springsteen's original band, The Castiles.

And what was the reason for the change? Bob Dylan ! The boss: "When I look back, I somehow had my own Dylanesque style, which I enjoyed a lot." But there can only be one Dylan - and so Springsteen found out how he could express his own relationship to the world musically.

But that didn't change the fascination for the songwriter colleague. For presenter Colbert the chance to ask the musician about his Dylan favorites. Springsteen listed “Like A Rolling Stone”, of course, but also “Visions Of Johanna” and “Ring Them Bells”. His favorite line in a song by the winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature would be “Like A Rolling Stone”: “Once upon a time you dressed so fine / Threw the bums a dime in your prime, didn't you?” Read the original
