Entertainment Emmerdale confirms identity of Cain's kidnapper and Charity's new admirer

Emmerdale has released a brand new trailer that has confirmed the identity of both Cain Dingle's kidnapper, and Charity's new admirer, and he's got a very personal connection to Moira!

You might have already guessed from when we detailed the three new characters the soap is introducing this autumn – the other two being Aaron's new romantic interest Ben, and Manpreet Sharma's sister Paige – that the mystery man is... Moira's brother Mackenzie!

What's next in the village?She takes great delight in telling Keanu that the move to Portugal is back on.

In the trailer (above), we see Mackenzie turn up and waste no time in telling Moira how much he hates her (not just because she doesn't recognise him at first, although we're sure that doesn't help), demanding a ransom of £5,000 for the return of her estranged husband.

The trailer also gives us a look at him crossing paths with Charity, although these clips cover a near-miss in their cars and a confrontation about what's in Mackenzie's trunk, and not the kiss between the two that we previously touched on.

So now we know who the kidnapper is, the question now is whether Moira will hand over the money, or find a way to free Cain and get Mackenzie off her back. We can't imagine Moira won't put up some sort of a fight, but if Mackenzie is anything like her, he won't back down easily.

Adding to the drama, we also know that Mackenzie's arrival will lead to Moira remembering a dark secret from her past. What could that be, we wonder?

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays.
