Love Island star Chris Hughes is set to make his big movie debut – yup you read that right.

Chris has been cast in Rise of the Footsoldier: Origins alongside some pretty big names, including Arrow actor Vinnie Jones and Kingsman: The Golden Circle star Keith Allen.

This film is the fifth title in the Rise Of The Footsoldier series and will follow how three men united to form their own football hooligan gang in Essex back in the late 1980s and early 1990s.

The reality TV star will be playing a football fan in the film, according to Screen Daily.

Jones is set to portray Bernard O'Mahoney, an associate of Essex Boys member Tony Tucker (Terry Stone) and Allen will be playing the owner of rough nightclub, Raquel's.

Directed by Nick Nevern, the film also sees Stone reprise his role from previous films, alongside Roland Manookian as Craig Rolfe and Craig Fairbrass as Pat Tate, who are also returning.

Following his successful stint on the 2017 ITV2 series, Chris has appeared on a number of reality shows such as Chris & Kem: Straight Outta Love Island and Chris and Olivia: Crackin' On, with fellow Islanders.

He also recently appeared alongside his brother in a recent BBC documentary Me, My Brother and Our Balls, which looked to highlight the importance of talking about male fertility.
