star Ray Meagher has opened up about his recent health scares, stating that he is still committed to the soap.
The actor, who plays Alf Stewart, underwent two lots of heart surgery in 2019. First he had a triple bypass to sort out three coronary artery blockages, and then had a second operation just seven months later.
Despite all of that, he returned to work in a matter of weeks and told Australia'sthat he's "never felt better".

"It was just a build-up of bad living for 40 years and having too much fun," he explained. adding: "[My wife] was a life-saver, and she keeps me on the straight and narrow now."
"I'm a pretty pragmatic sort of a bloke – I just get on with it," he said. "As the surgeon told me, I've got a fully reconditioned motor now and I should be right for another 100,000 miles!"
The actor also said that he will continue to work on the soap for as long as he is physically able, which is definitely good news for fans.
Although he tries to live a healthier lifestyle now, Ray added: "I drink a lot less beer now but still sometimes have a bit more than is deemed good.

Now sort out the X-Men: The Animated Series ordering.Disney+ is a pretty cracking streaming service, but it's still relatively new. As well as some glaring omissions (where are The Emperor's New School, Buzz Lightyear of Star Command and Fillmore?!), it takes a bit of time to negotiate the layout and different categories – especially when it comes to something as vast as the Marvel library.
"You know when you meet up with mates and have a bit of a yarn and a bit of a drink? I still like to have those nights occasionally."
Home and Away airs weekdays at 1.15pm and 6pm on Channel 5 (UK) and Mondays to Thursdays at 7pm on Channel 7 (Australia).
