Hollyoaks to repeat its first ever episode on the show's 25th anniversary
Speaking exclusively to Digital Spy about what's to come, Rhiannon explained: "Summer's a great character and I'm excited to explore her more. She's fun, sarcastic and I love the zest she brings, but also love that she's a really complex, multi-faceted character which is going to be brilliant to play.
"Fans can expect lots of surprises and fun with Summer, but not everything is always as it seems. She's all sweetness and light but she also has a nasty bite. It definitely wont be quiet or easy when Summer's around, but there'll be lots of excitement, twists and entertainment along the way."
Asked whether Summer will pose a threat to anyone in the village, Rhiannon replied: "She has a secret that will ruffle the feathers of some of the characters, and as time goes on, will lead to some quite difficult situations.
Exclusive: Hollyoaks star Jorgie Porter on possible permanent return for Theresa McQueen
"I'd love to stay."Hollyoaks star Jorgie Porter has revealed that she wants Theresa McQueen's comeback to become a permanent stay.
"Once Summer sets her mind on something, be it an idea, a plan or a person, she will do everything she can to make things go her way, which will cause some problems for certain characters, dynamics and some big stories. She isn't always what she seems."
Hollyoaks bosses have long-term plans for Summer as she'll be opening up a baking business in the Grand Bazaar and will become a frenemy for Sienna Blake.
Discussing how she felt when she landed the role, Rhiannon added: "I was absolutely buzzing – shocked but so, so happy! I was already really grateful to have gotten an audition in person, and so to actually get the role and the opportunity to join the Hollyoaks family was unreal.
"I was at my mum's, sat in the garden having a brew, when my agent rang me to say that I'd got the role. I was convinced he was calling to say 'sorry it's gone another way' and I was gearing myself up, but when he said I'd got the role, I was over the moon.

Former 'Doctor Who' star Rhiannon Clements has joined the cast of 'Hollyoaks' as Summer Ranger, the daughter of Cormac Ranger. The former 'Doctor Who' star will play Summer Ranger - the daughter of evil care home worker Cormac Ranger (James Gaddas), who Warren Fox (Jamie Lomas) recently put in a coma - and she is described as "angelic on the outside, but a mischievous minx on the inside".
"I was a mix of nerves and excitement on my first visit to set. I was shown around the building and talked through all the new protocols, then went for meetings with hair and make-up, producers and the scriptwriters.
"It was quite surreal to see the sets and the behind the scenes mechanisms that make Hollyoaks, from the other side of the camera. I had lots of chats about Summer's journey, personality and storylines and they allowed me so much input into who Summer is. I came away eager to start filming and creating her.
"The first cast member I met was Jamie Lomas, who plays Warren, at my audition. I walked into the waiting area just before going in to meet the casting team and I heard his voice from the audition room, and recognised it right away!
"He was really lovely and he put me completely at ease in my read, which allowed me so much freedom in what could have been a really nerve-racking setting.
