Erica Steiner's mother Robin has early-onset Alzheimer's and kisses the DVD box of O'Neal's 1970s weepie Love Story before bed, and wishes the actor 'good night'.
The veteran star, 79, reached out after Erica posted a video of her mother's nightly routine.
Footage shows O'Neal video calling Robin to say good night in person on October 23 in Westeros, Los Angeles.
When the call begins, Robin says to O'Neal: 'I can see you, you're nice looking,' as she is asked if she knows who the actor is.

O'Neal told Robin how he saw a video of her kissing a picture of him on TikTok, and she replies that she 'really appreciates' the call.
Daughter Erica jokes that her mother is in shock and doesn't realize who is on the video call, adding that saying the famous line from the movie may 'convince her'.

During the call O'Neal said the 'time flew by' and that it has been '50 years' since Love Story was released as the super-fan nods in agreement.
Erica has recently began sharing her mother's journey with the disease on Twitter and TikTok, after becoming her caregiver.
After Ryan's son Patrick reached out to Erica on social media, Robin was floored by meeting her favorite actor over FaceTime.

His son Patrick saw the tweet and reach out asking how he could help make something happen for Robin.
Heartthrob O'Neal, formerly married to Farrah Fawcett, starred in the romantic Love Story in 1970.
The movie turned out to be a box office hit, making O'Neal a star and earning him a nomination for an Academy Award for Best Actor.
Love Story was an instant box office smash, winning 10 awards including Golden Globe for the Best Motion Picture and an Oscar for Best Music.
The story follows Oliver Barrett IV, played by O'Neal, an upper-class student attending Harvard College where he plays ice hockey.
He meets Jennifer 'Jenny' Cavilleri, played by Ali MacGraw, a working-class Radcliffe College music student, and the pair fall in love.
The pair marry are graduation and are cut off by Oliver's family, and struggle to pay for him to go through Harvard Law School.
They then find that Jenny is terminally ill, and the tragic love story ends when she passes away.
Erica said: 'It's been a really exciting week for us both.
'Excitement isn't a feeling caregivers get to experience a lot and, even though her and I are great at making mundane things fun, this has been an exceptionally fun distraction from my otherwise exhausting day-to-day life as a caregiver.'
