The two-minute ad called Give A Little Love, illustrates how acts of kindness, large and small, can multiply and positively impact the world.

Directed by acclaimed British director Oscar Hudson, the visual captures different 'moments' of kindness, designed to appeal to different audiences, from children upwards. And each scene is connected to create a long chain of giving, passing the campaign’s heart emblem on to the next part of the film.

This isn’t the first time John Lewis & Waitrose have teamed up for a Christmas advert. Last year, Waitrose collaborated with John Lewis for a tongue-in-cheek festive ad, which viewers called a 'genius' joint campaign.

Waitrose actually unveiled a series of six adverts last year, but the third instalment was titled 'Fast Forward’ and saw a young girl encouraging her family to gather round to watch one of the biggest Christmas TV moments, which was of course the John Lewis Christmas advert, 'The Boy & The Piano', starring Elton John.

Hearing the start of Elton's 'Your Song', the advert begins to appear on the TV. The camera pans to the parents who share a knowing look, and they then take charge of the remote and begin to fast forward the ad, leaving their daughter perplexed.

As the advert comes to a close, the reason for the rushed viewing becomes apparent; the parents just couldn't wait to tuck into the Waitrose Dark Chocolate and Orange Stollen Wreath.
