Doctor Who has announced which classic series of the BBC sci-fi drama is next in line to be given a special edition boxset, with Doctor Who – The Collection: Season 8 about to be added to the lineup.

BBC Studios is giving Doctor Who fans the chance to add to their library of classic series with this new collection, starring Jon Pertwee as the Third Doctor and Katy Manning as Jo Grant.

Doctor Who - The Collection: Season 8 is available to pre-order now, and will be released on February 23, 2021.

The collection contains five classic stories, 'Terror of the Autons', 'The Mind of Evil', 'The Claws of Axos', 'Colony in Space' and 'The Daemons', which first aired in 1971.

The stories see the Third Doctor stranded on Earth in the 20th century, leading him to team up with Jo and UNIT in order to keep the planet safe from alien invasions. With Autons, Axons, a Daemon and his arch nemesis the Master (Roger Delgado) to contend with, the Doctor certainly has a lot on his plate in these classic adventures.

All of the episodes have been newly remastered for the boxset and the collection also contains an impressive range of exclusive special features, including new episodes of Behind the Sofa with Manning, Stewart Bevan (Professor Clifford Jones), Janet Fielding (Tegan Jovanka), Sarah Sutton (Nyssa), Sacha Dhawan (The Master) and Anjli Mohindra (Rani Chandra).

There is also an episode of In Conversation, which sees writer and journalist Matthew Sweet chat to Manning, and a film called A Devil's Weekend, which sees actors Manning and John Levene (Sergeant Benton) take a personal trip back to the picturesque village of Aldbourne, where they filmed 'The Daemons'.
