Man of many talents Idris Elba is interviewing Sir Paul McCartney for a one-hour BBC One special next month.

The exciting announcement reveals that the topic of conversation will be The Beatles icon's incomparable career in the music business.

Scribbling down the lyrics to his first song at the tender age of 14, McCartney went on to become a pioneering force in the industry alongside his bandmates, releasing hit after hit such as 'Hey Jude' and 'Come Together'.

Meanwhile, the broadcaster's acting controller Kate Phillips highlighted what viewers can expect when the piece airs in December.
