It saw Vernon Kay and Jordan North dress up as elves for a festive themed task at Gwrych Castle.

They had to translate Welsh language phone orders into English - acting as Santa's little helpers.

Jordan would answer the calls and needed to tell Vernon which item, in Welsh, each child wanted.

The latter was given a book containing translations to help him source the right toys on the shelves.

Items included het cowboi (cowboy hat), injan dan (fire engine) as well as sbienddrych (binoculars).

Each present had to be wrapped neatly and placed into the outbox - returned if the gift was wrong.

Although their pronunciations weren't very accurate, they managed to handle the task pretty well.

The pair did however struggle to understand chwyrligwgan (spinning top), which they mistook for cadw mi gei (money box) - though they eventually corrected their error.

During the challenge, Jordan said: "I'd like to apologise to every Welsh person that's watching this."

I'm a Celebrity viewers quickly forgave him though, with many even finding the scene pretty funny.

"They have to convert Welsh to English for presents. I'm in hysterics," tweeted one viewer tonight.

Another fan commented earlier: "I won't lie to you, nothing brings me more joy than watching English people trying to pronounce Welsh words."

A number of viewers also praised the Castle Coin Challenge for promoting our native language.

Whilst others said it was "perfection from the producers" and "everything I didn't know I needed."

Some Welsh-speakers even admitted that they would have struggled with the translation tasks.

"Even as first language Welsh some of these words have me confused," explained one viewer.

Another added: "As a fluent Welsh speaker I couldn’t even understand what the kid was saying on the other end of the phone so Vernon and Jordan did quite well."

There were some who urged TV shows to "stop" having English-speakers attempt other languages.

The majority of viewers however found the challenge amusing, despite a few poor pronuncations.

You can watch the final of this year's I'm a Celebrity on Friday, December 4, from 9-10.35pm on ITV.

It'll see Giovanna Fletcher, Vernon Kay or Jordan North crowned the first Queen or King of the Castle.
