RICHARD HAMMOND, presenter of The Grand Tour, spoke out about Jeremy Clarkson's admission that their former gig Top Gear, only became successful after his huge Vampire jet car accident in 2006, that left him close to death following a brain injury.In a recent interview with Andy Jaye on his podcast, Hammond addressed the statement made by his pal.
Back in January he opened up onand fearing he would die on his own from the disease.
The 60 year old revealed that he had contracted the illness and began feeling ill four days before Christmas.
Writing in an article forthe star explained that he felt poorly so began googling his symptoms and went to get a test which came back positive.
Writing in the column, the presenter revealed: “The doctor was very clear, I'd feel under the weather for between five and 14 days and then I'd either get better or I'd have to go to hospital.
“Where, because I am 60 and fat, and because I've smoked half a million cigarettes and had double pneumonia, I'd probably die, on my own, in a lonely plastic tent.”
The star, who presents The Grand Tour, then explained to readers that he had been spending time isolating with his 46-year-old girlfriend Lisa Hogan, and her children.
However, he felt uncertain as to who he was allowed to have contact with. Jeremy added: “I’m not going to lie — it was quite scary!”
