Hollyoaks has confirmed that Lucy-Jo Hudson is reprising her role as Donna-Marie Quinn on the Channel 4 soap.

Viewers recently found out that Juliet (Niamh Blackshaw) has been receiving text messages from her estranged mother Donna-Marie, causing problems between Juliet and her girlfriend Peri Lomax as Juliet refused to come clean over who she'd been secretly texting.

Juliet was worried that telling Peri the truth about the messages would only bring trouble should Donna-Marie return to the village, and now the soap's latest trailer has teased that Juliet was right to be concerned.

In Hollyoaks' summer trailer, Donna-Marie is seen surprising her daughter at the Salon De The, but Juliet doesn’t look too pleased to see her mum back in the village.

Donna-Marie was last seen in Hollyoaks in January 2020 when she tried to convince Juliet to leave Hollyoaks with her after being released from prison.

She ultimately exited the village after James Nightingale left her for dead following a drug overdose. While Donna-Marie was eventually saved by her children Juliet and Romeo, Romeo later ordered his mum to leave.

Now that she's back in the village though, she's desperate to prove to her children that she's changed, but can she be trusted?

Lucy Jo Hudson isn't the only addition to the cast this summer, as West End actor Sam Tutty will be making his Hollyoaks debut as Timmy this June.

The 23-year-old actor will be a part of Fergus Collins's (Robert Beck) ongoing storyline, which has seen him secretly filming Peri Lomax (Ruby O'Donnell) and other teenage girls with CCTV as part of an operation called 'bluebird'.

Computer whizz Timmy is brought in by Fergus to look after the technical side of 'bluebird' while Warren Fox (Jamie Lomas) and Felix Westwood (Richard Blackwood) handle the dodgy business dealings.

Speaking about his casting, Tutty said: "Working at Hollyoaks is an absolute delight.

"Everyone has been so welcoming and have been very supportive whenever I have had any questions. This mainly goes out to the wonderful Robert Beck who plays Fergus, Timmy's terrifying overseer.

"I feel so privileged to play a character like Timmy, he is clearly terrified of those he works for. His poisoned moral compass has led him down a treacherous path and I'm very excited to see what's at the end."
