Scream, the fifth instalment in the Scream franchise and self-confessed "relaunch", has shared a new behind-the-scenes look at its central villain Ghostface.

The latest version of Ghostface hasn't changed much since the original '96 movie, fans will be pleased to know, with the killer looking just as sinister as ever in that iconic, Edvard Munch-inspired mask.

Sound mixer Greg Russell gave fans a sneak peek at a few stills from the upcoming title on Instagram, revealing post-production shots of a Ghostface close-up and a woman holding her phone.

Telling fans that he had a "blast" working on Scream, Russell also praised the "super fun filmmakers" and the movie's "very cool score". We wouldn't have expected anything less.

Ghostface (alternatively stylized as Ghost Face or GhostFace ) is a fictional identity adopted by several characters in the Scream series. The figure was originally created by Kevin Williamson, and is primarily mute in person but voiced over the phone by Roger L. Jackson

Based on the new trailer, Audrey is either being blackmailed by the new Ghostface or, more likely, someone who figured out her secret connection to Piper. Since Noah seems hell bent on his theory that someone helped Piper and is still at large, maybe he's discovered Audrey's dark secret and is trying Brooke: Since she's shown covered in blood, screaming in terror in one shot and about to open the door on the new Ghostface in another shot in the trailer, it's highly unlikely this bad girl has picked up the knife and mask this time around. She'll be more concerned with hiding her new relationship with

Ghostface 's new look seems to match previous descriptions of the show's version of the character given by MTV's senior vice president Mina Lefevre that Ghostface will have a "darker, almost more grounded, evolved version of the mask" that is "more organic looking and a frankly darker version [than the original].” “ Scream ” the series will follow the aftermath of a cyber-bullying incident that results in a shocking murder. The brutal event brings back memories from of past killing spree that has haunted some, possibly inspires a new killer and brings together a new group of teens.

By looking at the framing of scenes , their sequential order, and some clever filmmaking choices, it is possible to give a somewhat accurate count of each killer’s victims. This will be a ranking of each killer based solely on their kill count, not the quality of their character or motivation. In Scream 's infamous opening scene , the most logical conclusion is that Stu killed Steve and Billy killed Casey. This is because Billy was most likely the one on the phone with Casey during Steve's murder. Kenny’s killer is easy to figure out as Stu was in the Ghostface costume due to Billy having to be upstairs playing dead.
