Judges on the show have included Nicole Scherzinger, Louis Walsh, Rita Ora, and most recently, Louis Tomlinson, Robbie Williams and Ayda Field.
However, Simon will be returning to ITV with a new talent competition Walk The Line. Scots X Factor contestants and what they are doing now - after show is axed
Simon Cowell has called time on the iconic show - but here are some of the Scots who remain unforgettable. Whitburn's Leon Jackson won the show in 2007 as a 19-year-old lad and had a hit Christmas single with his song When You Believe. Following his time on the show, Leon started a new life in the US and now works behind the scenes in production. Leon, who found the spotlight invasive at times, also has songwriting credits to his name, penning a song for The Voice UK finalist Vince Kidd in 2012.
Each night, the reigning champion will be offered an even higher cash-out prize.
Simon said in a statement: "I am thrilled to be working with Lifted Entertainment and ITV on this new project. We wanted to develop a show which will give the contestants a life-changing cash prize if they win. Each show there will be a champion who must make a vital decision: either cash out then and there or stay in the contest to compete again the following night and have a chance to claim the huge prize.
"It's the kind of decision that will have viewers on the edge of their seats – real event TV. I’m very excited at giving musical talent the opportunity to transform their lives like never before."
The six-part series will debut on ITV and ITV Hub later this year.
