The gang are coming back for round two.Speaking with Variety, the star announced that the script is completed for the upcoming follow-up film and that filming will start at the beginning of next year.

Director Sergio Pablos, who also co-wrote the movie with Jim Mahoney and Zach Lewis, exclusively told Digital Spy: "The idea was always to finish the movie by laying our version of Santa at the feet of the audience, and saying, 'And this is where your Santa starts.'

"We wanted to make sure we did not interfere with your own experience of Santa, but to offer a possible explanation of how we got there.
"There were a couple of different iterations of the ending before we landed on the one that ended up in the film, but they were all geared towards that very same goal."
Speaking about a sequel, he added: "Absolutely not.
"As I said earlier, this is already a prequel to your Santa, so anything you were to put between those two would do away with the basic intent of this film. Plus, I’d much rather focus on finding the next great story."
