The Big Bang Theory spin-off Young Sheldon is about to return with a "small time jump" to come in the upcoming episodes, its co-creator has revealed.

Premiered in 2017, the series focuses on a younger Sheldon Cooper, whose adult version was portrayed by Jim Parsons in the Emmy-winning sitcom. The child prodigy is played by Iain Armitage in the spin-off, now returning for a fifth season.

Co-creator Steve Molaro has explained there will be a flash forward in the new season, forcing Sheldon to deal with new and challenging situations he's not prepared to face in the least.

These celebrities were banned from famous talk shows Live television is a dicey game. If something goes wrong, there's no turning back! They say not to work with children or animals. That being said, some of these eccentric celebrities are far more unpredictable. The job of a talk-show host is already difficult enough. They have to keep a good conversation flowing with their famous guest, make the audience laugh, and get the juicy details everyone is dying to hear. This doesn't always go well if the guest is offended, inebriated, or following their own hell-raising agenda. And when this happens, there are often consequences. "[There will be] new classes, new professors and new situations [that] Sheldon is not prepared to handle," he added.

As for Sheldon’s older brother Georgie, he’ll be thinking a lot about life after high school.

"[He] is going to make a decision that will affect the entire family," Molaro teased.
