Speaking in a new candid interview ahead of the 2021 season's start date on Tuesday, Paul, 55, also said that it was "ridiculous" that co-judge, 81, only put on 1lb.
Paul admitted that he was annoyed about his weight gain as he had just lost a stone and a half just before filming started due to a new fitness regime where he cycled for at least 10 miles at a time.
Speaking to Love Sunday magazine, he said: "I put on 12 pounds in that b****y tent. Prue put on a pound! A pound during Bake Off? That’s ridiculous.
Bake Off series 12 confirmed to return in less than TWO WEEKS
The Great British Bake Off is set to return to screens in less than two weeks. The super-popular cookery contest will air the first episode of its 12th series on September 21 on Channel 4 at 8PM.While fans are still in the dark with regards to the contestants taking part, a poster featuring judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith, as well as hosts Matt Lucas and Noel Fielding materialised on Twitter on Wednesday.

"All I wanted to do was go home to try and lose the weight again! I am p****d off this year for the first time about it, because I was doing really well.
"Lockdown was doing me good, not bad. But my exercise regime changed when I was in Bake Off because I wasn’t allowed to leave the bubble to cycle."
Paul added that as well as being unable to do his 10 mile cycles, he was also "locked in his room writing a book" on the show's rest days which resulted in him "getting back into old habits".
The judge insisted that he is now "back on it again" and that he has already lost a "good couple of pounds this week".
