Viewers were left frustrated this evening after Channel 4 was taken off air earlier over what bosses described as a 'technical fault'.
Thousands of people reported issues with the main channel, Channel 5 and subsidiaries including e4, 4more, 4film and 4music on popular website downdetector.com.
In other developments, Welsh public broadcaster, S4C, confirmed it was also encountering issuing due to a fire at a distribution centre in London.

Images shared online showed flailing TV signals showing no picture, a black flashing screen with no noise and programmes cutting in and out at around 7pm.
Others reported seeing a 'black and green' flickering screen as one viewer compared the scene to a ZX Spectrum loading screen.
A white holding screen was displayed after the end of the scheduled Formula One qualifying session highlights on the main channel at 7pm, which read: 'Whisper West, for Channel 4 Television.'
It is not clear if the disruption has ended on all channels yet.
Channel 4 confirmed on their official Twitter account: 'Channel 4 and More 4 are currently off air due to a technical problem.

Sharing their dismay on Twitter, several viewers reported issues and bemoaned the fact their favourite programmes weren't displaying correctly.
@Rayatthegrays asked: 'And now Channel4 frozen as well. What on earth is going on?'
Another confused fan queried: 'Is it just me or has Film4 hung on the last movie credits for the last 30 minutes?'
@Seekqueen wrote: 'A lot of channels are effected by whatever is going on.'
A spokesperson for Channel4 confirmed the channel came off air 'over technical issues and steps were made to right it as soon as possible'.
They added there is no timeline in place as of yet for a full-fix, but engineers are working to resume normal service.
Red Bee Media, who provides end-to-end broadcast services for Channel 4's channels, have been contacted for comment.

Viewers started reporting outages at around 6.30pm on Sunday.
Downdetector reported more than 3,000 outages on the popular TV channel from approximately 6.30pm to 8pm.
Thousands of viewers were left to watch adverts that had frozen or blank holding screens in lieu of their favourite programmes.
Separately, Channel 5 was also said to be faced with technical issues and went off air on Saturday.
Some viewers said they were only shown a message on the channel which said: 'We apologise for the interruption. We'll be back with you as soon as we can.'
