Southampton boss issues sporting Jimenez verdict

Sporting Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl took time to pay tribute to match-winner Raul Jimenez following his side’s defeat to Wolves.

The goal - and what it meant - is one of the Premier League’s good news stories of the season so far, and even beaten boss Hasenhuttl couldn’t help feeling pleased for the popular striker.

It proved to be the only goal of the game as Bruno Lage's side bounced back from the defeat to Brentford and Carabao Cup exit at the hands of Tottenham.

Jimenez feared he would never play again in the aftermath of the fractured skull he suffered at Emirates almost 10 months ago and only returned to the field at the start of this campaign.

The goal – and the three points – has been gleefully received by Wolves fans.
