Britney Spears: 'I've been in horrible relationships'

Britney Spears: 'I've been in horrible relationships' Britney Spears is still open to a new romance despite her "horrible" dating history. The Pretty Girls star dated fellow singer Justin Timberlake from 1999 to 2002 and wed childhood friend Jason Alexander for only 55 hours in 2004. She subsequently married her former backup dancer Kevin Federline and became engaged to her former manager Jason Trawick in 2011. Despite her string of failed relationships, Britney insists she is still a "hopeless romantic" and still "believes in love." "I think you should protect your heart and stuff like that," she tells Australian radio show Rove & Sam. "But yeah I am a hopeless romantic. I believe in love. I like cheesy. I think cheesy is so sweet and nice." While the singer is still hoping to find love, she is not focused on dating. "I'm not looking for a man at the moment," Britney told E! News in June (16). "My boys are my heart." The singer, who shares two sons with Federline, has been quiet on the romance front recently, following her breakup from boyfriend of eight months, Charlie Ebersol in June 2015. However, Britney will be keeping busy for the next year after returning to the stage at the Planet Hollywood resort in Las Vegas in June (16). The return came as the singer announced she was extending her residency, revealing that her show will now run until February (17). She also released comeback single Make Me last month (Jul16) and it shot to the top of the U.S. iTunes single sales chart just hours after its debut.

Britney Spears escaped death in Hawaii

Britney Spears escaped death in Hawaii Britney Spears is lucky to be alive after almost drowning during a vacation in Hawaii earlier this month (Aug16). The Toxic singer has revealed her life flashed before her eyes when she was dragged under water by "six-foot waves" while swimming yards away from her security staff. "I went out and I thought it was like a wave pool, and I was like, ‘This is so nice and refreshing and just beautiful’," she told the BBC, "but the thing I didn’t think about is when you come back, the waves really come in hard. "I got sucked under for, like, five minutes. I almost drowned. And I’m like, 'Where is my security? They’re just going to let me die here!'" Britney had a stern talk with her security guards after struggling in the water. "I came in again and another wave took me under." It would have been an awful time for the singer to die - just weeks before the release of her comeback album, Glory, which drops on Friday (26Aug16). In her interview with BBC Radio 1's Scott Mills, Britney also revealed she has been stood up by a lot of celebrities, who have offered to work with her and then disappeared. But she was impressed by Justin Bieber when she met him a few years ago. "He walked into my hotel room and he was like a kid," she recalls, admitting she had no idea who he was at first. "Literally, he looked like he was 13 years old but he was 16. I was like, 'Who is this kid in my hotel?' And my sister was like, 'This is Justin Bieber and his mother'. And I was like, 'Oh my God, I cannot believe this'. He’s very unassuming. He’s a very, very nice, kind boy.

Britney Spears might be one of the most famous women in the world – but even she has experienced some bad first dates. In a recent interview with Marie Claire, the 34-year-old singer opened up about her relationship history, and revealed that even celebrities get their fair share of dating disasters.

"I had a really bad date. I mean, it was really bad," Britney confessed. "I've been single for ages and had a date with a guy I liked. I was getting anxious, worrying he wouldn't like me. In the evening I got on the scales and I had lost six pounds."

She continued: "We went to the movies, but I could tell right away that it wasn't working. It was sort of awkward. So after the movie I came home and that was it.

Britney Spears accused of lip-syncing on Carpool Karaoke

Britney Spears accused of lip-syncing on Carpool Karaoke Britney Spears will be the latest artist to take part in James Corden’s Carpool Karaoke this week, and from the trailer alone, fans are already accusing her of lip-syncing. The singer follows a host of massive names to have taken part in the Late Late Show segment, which has become a huge hit since Corden took over the US talk show last year. The likes of Adele, One Direction, Justin Bieber, Sia and Mariah Carey have all appeared to sing along to their own biggest songs, as well as a handful of their favourites from other artists. Tomorrow (Thursday 25 August) Britney Spears’ Carpool Karaoke hits the internet, but the trailer has people a little confused. The singer appears to be simply mouthing along to ‘Toxic’, rather than singing it live. “Britney will be the first human being to make a Karaoke lipsync. Queen,” reads the top comment on YouTube. Others agree, saying, “Auto-Tune Karaoke? or Lipsync karaoke? we all know she cant sing for real.” Harsh. Meanwhile, speaking to GQ, Corden recently said of his dream karaoke guest, “Beyoncé. It would break the Internet. She’s on tour right now. We’re working on it.” Unfortunately though, Kanye West has cancelled on Corden - who began hosting the US talk show last year, replacing Craig Ferguson - twice. “He’ll do it eventually,” he insisted. “He wants to do it.” He also revealed that West had sent “about three dozen white roses, of course. Arranged in the shape of a cube.

"He just wasn't that into me. I liked him. He knew that. But he definitely didn't feel the same. It happens to everyone. Being famous doesn't make you any different."

Britney's last romance was with TV producer Charlie Ebersol, who she dated for eight months before their split in June 2015.

The pop star was famously married to Jason Alexander for just 55 hours back in 2004, before their marriage was annulled. Later that same year she tied the knot with Kevin Federline, and the couple welcomed two boys together before their split in November 2006.

Britney's two boys, Sean Preston and Jayden James

But regardless of her relationship status, the absolute loves of Britney's life are her sons, Sean Preston, 10, and Jayden James, nine.

"Becoming a mother and being with my boys has made me so much more accepting of myself. I'm their mum, whatever. That has been a really big thing for me over these last few years," she said.

"I've been through a lot and I've got to this point where I feel good about being single. The best relationship I've ever had is with my boys."

Britney Spears ditched date because he 'looked like a lizard' .
Britney Spears once cut a blind date short after being set up with a man she described as looking "like a lizard". The Stronger singer split from film and TV producer boss Charlie Ebersol last year (15), and while she is happy being single, she has a friend who keeps trying to play matchmaker by setting her up with dates. Although a couple of dates went well, she admits the majority of the time they're "too awkward" or "too much", especially one time when she was shocked by a man's lizard-like appearance and had to make a sharp exit as soon as possible. "The dating thing and meeting other people, it’s hard. Tricky," she tells U.K. host Jonathan Ross. "I will say there’s been two dates that have been kind of cool but other than that it’s just too much. I went out with this one guy and he looked like a lizard. I was so scared. As soon as I turned around I was like, ‘Oh My God’ he looks just like a lizard and I had to go, it was really bad.” When asked by Jonathan if she just left, she nods and adds, “immediately" and admits she was so mad, she gave the friend who set her up an angry phone call, but her pal insisted the man didn't look like a lizard in his pictures. Although she's not looking for a man and is "really happy with herself" right now, Britney says her ideal man would be "nice", a trait she consider rare in current society. "A lot of men are about games," she explains. "It’s just the mind game with guys, the calling back and the texting, it’s just too much, it’s silly." Britney's interview airs in the U.K. on Saturday (01Oct16).
