The crime dramas both premiered on the US network in late September, and CBS Entertainment President Kelly Dahl said in a statement that they "are off to a tremendous start".

"They have significantly strengthened and improved our line-up on their respective nights and are generating huge increases on our streaming platforms as well," she added. "We applaud the talented producers, writers and casts on their compelling storytelling and performances, which are clearly resonating with viewers."

Airing on Monday evenings, NCIS: Hawai'i centres on Vanessa Lachey's Jane Tennant, a Special Agent tasked with leading the Naval Criminal Investigative Service team out of the Pearl Harbor Field Office. Together, they look into offences related to military and national security.

Alex Tarrant (as Kai Holman), Noah Mills (as Jesse Boone), Yasmine Al-Bustami (Lucy Tara), Jason Antoon (Ernie Malik), Tori Anderson (Kate Whistler), and Kian Talan round out the cast.

According to Nielsen and Adobe Analytics, each of its four episodes so far have pulled in around 9.3 million viewers. FBI: International – which airs on Tuesday nights – boasts similarly solid numbers, earning approximately 8.79 million viewers across its first two episodes.

Starring Luke Kleintank, Heida Reed, Carter Redwood, Vinessa Vidotto and Christiane Paul, it follows an elite team of Budapest-based counterterrorism operatives. Their mission? Locating and neutralising threats against American interests, whatever and wherever they may be.

Its first episode crossed over with FBI: Most Wanted, continuing on from the events of the latter's season three finale.
