Ronnie Tutt (born March 12, 1938, Dallas, Texas) is a drummer who played concerts and recording sessions for a variety of rock artists from Elvis Presley to the Carpenters. Tutt is a native Texan and was involved with music and performing arts for most of his childhood. As a child, he played the Tutt auditioned for the TCB Band ("Taking Care of Business"), the Elvis Presley touring and recording band, upon the recommendation of TCB keyboardist Larry Muhoberac. Tutt 's drumming incorporated cues from Presley's stage moves during the audition. Presley liked what he heard, and Tutt was thereafter

When Elvis Presley made his musical return after his 1968 Comeback Special, he would tour with his TCB Band named after his catchphrase Takin' Care of Business. His drummer during the 1970s was Ronnie Tutt, who has sadly died this week aged 83. Graceland paid tribute to The King's drummer through their social media accounts.

Graceland's statement read: "All of us with Elvis Presley Enterprises were deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Ronnie Tutt.

"In addition to being a legendary drummer, he was a good friend to many of us here at Graceland.

"We enjoyed each time he joined us here to celebrate Elvis Week, Elvis' Birthday and many other special occasions.

Graceland added: "Ronnie Tutt played drums for Elvis as part of the TCB Band from 1969 until 1977.

"He was part of the band put together by James Burton for Elvis' 1969 Las Vegas opening - and stayed with Elvis until his death in 1977.

"Ronnie later toured with Neil Diamond's band. He also recorded and performed with the likes of Johnny Cash, Glen Campbell, Kenny Rogers, Elvis Costello, Stevie Nicks, Michael McDonald, among others.

Elvis and Ronnie fans can check out the pair in a clip from 1977's Elvis in Concert television special, which was filmed just weeks before The King's death.

In the video, Elvis introduces Ronnie "from Dallas, Texas" as the drummer performs a solo and The King is seen nodding along to the beat.

The news of the drummer's death was announced on the Ronnie Tutt Fan Page on Facebook.

A message read: "Hi everyone. This is administrator Duane. It breaks my heart to tell you that Ronnie has passed away. As soon as I get details from the family I will pass them on to you. Please do not bother them."

While later Ronnie's daughter Tina paid tribute to her father, posting: "Humble, loving, talented, god loving, loving father & husband are all words that come to mind when describing my dad.

"He will live on through his children, grandchildren & great grandchildren. We will hear him in music forever.

"He lived a great life & is now released from his suffering. Rock n roll in heaven dad, miss you already! Love you always!"
