Entertainment Dune ending explained: What happened at the end of Dune?
Are you curious about the filming of 1984 after "Dune"? So you can see "Dune - The Desert Planet"
The Roman "Dune - The Desert Planet" of Frank Herbert is quite a tower: 800 pages includes the new translation, which is currently found in book stores and mailing dealers. That director Denis Villeneuve does not adapt the book to a blow, but in his new " Dune " films only the first half, is therefore an understandable decision. But at " Dune - the desert planet " from 1984 it was different. © Warner Bros.
WARNING: This article contains full spoilers for Dune.
Dune tells the epic story of the Atreides family taking control of Arrakis and the harvesting of the spice, Melange. The final moments of the film leave some questions to be answered that will likely continue into the second half of the story. Until then, read what happened at the end of Dune: Part One.
What happened at the end of Dune?
Dune's ending showed Paul (Timothée Chalamet) and his mother Lady Jessica (Rebecca Ferguson) finally being saved by the Fremen.
Before that, one of the Fremen, Jamis, was not happy with how Lady Jessica disarmed Stilgar (Benicio Del Toro). He called her a witch for being a Bene Gesserit and demanded a trial by combat.
Every single thing you need to know before you watch Dune
Every single thing you need to know before you watch Dune -Based on the 1965 novel by Frank Herbert, which spawned five sequels, Dune takes place in the year 10191 in a distant galaxy populated by opposing houses who are fully dependent on the production of a precious mineral known as spice melange that is found only on a desert planet called Arrakis. The spice is just one of literally hundreds of different strands to the narrative which predominantly follows the heroic arc of young Paul Atreides.
Paul stepped into battle on Lady Jessica's behalf, where he fought diligently against the warrior.
Paul eventually bested Jamis, killing him in the process, and continued on his way with the rest of the Fremen.
In the final scenes of the film, Paul was told by Chani (Zendaya) that "this is just the beginning".
Paul then looked over the deserts of Dune and saw a Fremen warrior pull out two hooks before jumping on the back of a Shai-Hulud (better known as a sandworm).
This scene is teasing that Paul will have a long, complicated life going forward with the Fremen now that he has run away to the desert.
Bald, butch and beautiful! These are the sexiest bald men in the world!
Long gone are the days when men would be embarrassed about losing their locks. In 2021, bald is bold, bald is brave and bald is beautiful! These famous hunks prove that bald is best!
Paul's fate was left hanging in the balance after the Harkonnens killed nearly all of his family and took over Arrakis.
With the help of the Emperor's specialised warriors, the Sardaukar, the Atreides tribe were murdered, leaving just Paul and Lady Jessica alive - as well as Jessica's unborn child.
Thankfully, Paul does have an advantage over the Harkonnens.
After ingesting some spice while hiding out in the desert, Paul gained a limited amount of prescience.
Paul's ability to see into the near future allows him to know what is going to happen before it does.
This power showed him his romance with Chani long before he met her.
It also showed him a death would occur during a fight with Jamis.
With his new power of prescience, and a new collection of allies in the Fremen, he has all he needs to take on the Harkonnens in the future.
At the moment Dune: Part Two has not yet been confirmed by Warner Bros Studios or Legendary Pictures.
However, director Denis Villeneuve has already confirmed he will be fighting for a second film in the franchise.
Dune is in cinemas now.
Dune: 5 Biggest Similarities Between Denis Villeneuve's Movie And Star Wars: A New Hope .
Dune influenced the original Star Wars, but the 1977 movie came before Denis Villeneuve's adaptation. So it's time to compare the two.Let’s be honest here, a lot of us didn’t get through all 896 pages of the paperback prior to Denis’ film. If you’re like myself, you grew up watching Star Wars long before even hearing about the book. I tried to watch the David Lynch version after seeing the poster in the background of the main character’s room in Chuck years ago, but was left rather confused.
