The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have shared a trio of candid couple photos from behind the scenes atawards ceremony, which took place on Sunday (18 October).
In one photo, the couple emerge through a pair of curtains backstage, laughing together. In another, Kate has her arm roundas they share a word together at the reception.
The photographs were shared yesterday (20 October) on the royal couple’s official social media accounts and were captioned, “Behind the scenes at the first ever @EarthshotPrize Awards.”

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, along with Prince Charles and Camilla, were all in attendanceFor the occasion, Kate made a statement in an embellished gold Jenny Packham cape dress, featuring architectural shoulders and a flowing train. The metallic look was a bold choice for Kate, who normally leans towards simpler pieces. She paired the gown with circular gold earrings and an intricate updo.
Kate re-wore a stunning gown by British design house Alexander McQueen for the occasion. The Grecian-style dress featured a flowing, pleated skirt and gold waistband. Prince William always went for a high-fashion approach, wearing a green velvet jacket over a black turtle-neck sweater.
The stylish couple hosted The Earthshot Prize awards at London's Alexandra Palace, which was presented by Dermot O’Leary and Clara Amfo and was broadcast live.
The star-event was attended by a host of British legends including Sir David Attenborough, Harry Potter’s Emma Watson, and actress Emma Thompson.
Five winners were announced for the very first Earthshot Prize, which will return annually for the next nine years. The prize results in a £1 million sum to further innovative projects which seek to help climate change and the environment.
