Piers Morgan has once again stirred the pot following his departure as a presenter from ITV’s Good Morning Britain earlier this year.
The former News of the World editor had parted ways with the programme in March after regulator Ofcom received tens and thousands of complaints from the public about his comments concerning the mental health of Meghan Markle.
But Morgan has managed to stay in the spotlight in the past year, largely through his unapologetically cynical tweets that almost never fail to trigger an online debate.

In a tweet this morning, Morgan addressed his former director at Good Morning Britain, Erron Gordon, who seven years after launching the ITV show announced that he too is leaving.
Morgan tweeted: “Brilliant! And no less than this masterful director deserves after all he's done for @GMB”.
In the tweet, Morgan actually shared another tweet from the Good Morning Britain account that included a video dedicated to Gordon, who directed his last episode of the show this morning.
But it’s what Morgan said next that raised eyebrows on the social media platform.
“Congrats @errongordon - I can't wait to work with you again on my new global show,” Morgan said, adding a fist bump emoji.

"I have made the incredibly difficult decision to step away from my role."The 100's Lindsey Morgan, who stars alongside Supernatural's Jared Padalecki on the CW's Walker series, will be leaving the show during season two for "personal reasons".
Fellow Twitter users couldn’t help but sense that Morgan was gloating about having poached Gordon from his former employer.
One user commented: “That's one loaded tweet.”
“So the director that's leaving #gmb is off to work with Piers,” another user said, adding the hashtag #Synchronicity, a word which refers to deeply meaningful coincidences that mysteriously occur in life.
Others were unhappy about Morgan jumping at the opportunity to promote his new show.
One said Gordon deserves “all the success”, but was not too pleased with Morgan’s attitude.
“As for Piers, as usual it's me, me, me. Why add 'my new global show'!?” they said.
Concurring with that comment, another user said: “And there you have it again. Piers turning a story that is not about him into a story about himself.”
Some of the critical comments were also directed at Gordon, with one saying: “Off to get half the audience. Good work pal”.

Breaking down in tears, Gordon described his time at ITV as “incredible”.
He said: “An amazing bunch of people here. Very, very blessed to have worked here, thank you."
Gordon will now be reuniting with Morgan for his new show on TalkTV, a new television channel being launched by Rupert Murdoch's News UK at the beginning of 2022.
