LeAnn Rimes understands Britney Spears' 2007 meltdown

LeAnn Rimes understands Britney Spears' 2007 meltdown LeAnn Rimes "totally" understands Britney Spears' 2007 breakdown because she could have easily been in the pop star's shoes. The Can't Fight the Moonlight singer began her music career as a youngster and grew up in the spotlight like Britney. While she didn't have a public breakdown like the Oops!I Did It Again star in 2007, when Britney infamously shaved her head and attacked a car with an umbrella, LeAnn admits she could have easily suffered the same fate because she was also struggling to cope with fame. "I've been in those shoes, too, and I know those experiences," she told Britain's Metro newspaper. "The shaving head thing? I totally understand it. I didn't go there but I definitely had the feeling of it, I'm sure, at some point." Britney sought treatment following her breakdown, which saw her temporarily lose primary custody of her two sons Sean Preston and Jayden James and her father Jamie Spears given control of her finances and career decisions. She embarked on a Las Vegas residency in 2013, regained primary custody of her boys last year (15) and is working on new music, and LeAnn is glad Britney has turned her life around. "I look at her and think it's really amazing what she's overcome," she added. "It's nice to see someone come out the other side and be successful again." LeAnn also told the newspaper she would never recommend being a child star because you don't have a childhood or the chance to discover your own identity. "Parts of me still needed to develop and grow into this woman that I am," she continued. "You could never figure out who you were because there were so many other opinions. I don't recommend it to anyone, let's put it that way.

Britney Spears won't listen to her own music.

The 'Make Me' hitmaker tries to never playback her own songs but relies on her sons - Sean, 10, and Jayden, nine - and her nieces to give her their verdict.

She told Flaunt magazine: "It's funny, because I don't really listen to my music. My kids do and my nieces do. I'm about the creative process. I'm in the moment of being creative and then I put it out there. Of course, I sing my songs every night [at my residency] and I have to listen to it that way, but I'm all about change. And new. And forthcoming.

"But, there is a part of me in my music and I hope, for my fans, that they can have that part of me when they hear me on the radio, or buy my CD, or whatever they do."

Meanwhile, the 34-year-old singer previously revealed her new album is "very chill."

She said: "It's very exciting. I've been working on this project for a year and a half now, almost two years so it really means a lot to me. It's my baby.

"It's a little melodic, a little more not so poppy. It's kind of chill. Very chill. I'm old school. I like classic rock. I like the Rolling Stones. The Lumineers are really cool. Sade is nice. I like 80s music, too."

And Britney recently described her new music as like a "baby" to her.

She added: "I just know that the direction I'm going in is so good. It's the best thing I've done in a long time. I'm just particular with this record - it's my baby. I'm proud of the work, and it's very different.

"It's not what you would think at all. I'm not rushing anything. I would much rather have it be completely how I want it to be. I just want it to be done right so that my fans will truly appreciate it."

Britney Spears blames herself for concert backflip meltdown .
Britney Spears suffered a slip up onstage in London on Tuesday night (27Sep16) when she lost her confidence just before a backflip routine. The pop star brought a stripped-down version of her Piece of Me Las Vegas show to London's Roundhouse venue as part of the Apple Music Festival and among many missteps, the Toxic singer appeared to lose her nerve during a signature move. Britney was asked about her return to the London stage during a BBC chat on Wednesday (28Sep16), and when the botched backflip came up, she confessed she suddenly had a mini-panic attack onstage. "I freaked out," she said. "I put my hands up and there was a new guy there. "Usually I have my signature guy who helps me with it, every night for the past three years. But it was this new guy." "It wasn't his first day but it was his first time to touch my back and I couldn't do it," Spears added. "He's actually more muscly than the (usual) guy and I should've been more confident." The slip-up didn't upset fans, who included Sam Smith and Rita Ora - they were thrilled as Britney ripped through her greatest hits, including Baby One More Time, Toxic and Womanizer. The concert at the Roundhouse was Britney's first London concert in five years. The superstar has previously spoken about her ongoing battle with nerves onstage, telling the UK edition of Marie Claire magazine in a recent interview she has battled anxiety for years. “If a hair was out of place, I’d be so anxious," she revealed. "I would get very anxious about so many things.
