LeAnn Rimes understands Britney Spears' 2007 meltdown

LeAnn Rimes understands Britney Spears' 2007 meltdown LeAnn Rimes "totally" understands Britney Spears' 2007 breakdown because she could have easily been in the pop star's shoes. The Can't Fight the Moonlight singer began her music career as a youngster and grew up in the spotlight like Britney. While she didn't have a public breakdown like the Oops!I Did It Again star in 2007, when Britney infamously shaved her head and attacked a car with an umbrella, LeAnn admits she could have easily suffered the same fate because she was also struggling to cope with fame. "I've been in those shoes, too, and I know those experiences," she told Britain's Metro newspaper. "The shaving head thing? I totally understand it. I didn't go there but I definitely had the feeling of it, I'm sure, at some point." Britney sought treatment following her breakdown, which saw her temporarily lose primary custody of her two sons Sean Preston and Jayden James and her father Jamie Spears given control of her finances and career decisions. She embarked on a Las Vegas residency in 2013, regained primary custody of her boys last year (15) and is working on new music, and LeAnn is glad Britney has turned her life around. "I look at her and think it's really amazing what she's overcome," she added. "It's nice to see someone come out the other side and be successful again." LeAnn also told the newspaper she would never recommend being a child star because you don't have a childhood or the chance to discover your own identity. "Parts of me still needed to develop and grow into this woman that I am," she continued. "You could never figure out who you were because there were so many other opinions. I don't recommend it to anyone, let's put it that way.

Britney Spears won't listen to her own music.

The 'Make Me' hitmaker tries to never playback her own songs but relies on her sons - Sean, 10, and Jayden, nine - and her nieces to give her their verdict.

She told Flaunt magazine: "It's funny, because I don't really listen to my music. My kids do and my nieces do. I'm about the creative process. I'm in the moment of being creative and then I put it out there. Of course, I sing my songs every night [at my residency] and I have to listen to it that way, but I'm all about change. And new. And forthcoming.

"But, there is a part of me in my music and I hope, for my fans, that they can have that part of me when they hear me on the radio, or buy my CD, or whatever they do."

Britney Spears' manager: 'There's no big drama about scrapped music video'

Britney Spears' manager: 'There's no big drama about scrapped music video' Britney Spears' manager insists there is no controversy over the star's scrapped Make Me music video - it just "didn't work". The pop star released the first single from her new album this summer (16), and photo teasers of a David LaChapelle-directed promo were released online, including one snap she posted on Instagram featuring her handsome male extras. But last month (16), the video was leaked on the Internet, and bosses at RCA Records released a statement saying it was "not a suitable representation of the song". When the Make Me video was officially released, fans noted it was not the same one Britney had promoted earlier, and furthermore, videographer Randee St. Nicholas was credited as the director and not LaChapelle. This prompted devotees to start a petition urging label bosses to release the original video, and the Change.org initiative garnered support from over 10,000 people around the world. In addition, fans also concocted theories as to why Britney's team would release a new version, with some suggesting the promo was canned because the singer thought it was "too sexy". Now Britney's longtime manager Larry Rudolph is seeking to end the drama, telling the Los Angeles Times there is simply no scandal to the matter. "It's really simple. The video just didn't work," Rudolph says. "This is the first time we've reshot a video, and because it's Britney there are all kinds of conspiracies. Nobody is hiding anything." LaChapelle previously worked with Britney on her Everytime video, but is also known for other promos like Christina Aguilera's sexually suggestive promo for Dirrty.

Britney Spears doesn' t listen to her own music . The 34-year-old singer is currently enjoying a musical comeback thanks to her Piece of Me When it comes to rating her own tunes, Britney relies on other people to give her their verdict, as she always steers clear of listening to her own offerings.

Meanwhile, the 34-year-old singer previously revealed her new album is "very chill."

She said: "It's very exciting. I've been working on this project for a year and a half now, almost two years so it really means a lot to me. It's my baby.

"It's a little melodic, a little more not so poppy. It's kind of chill. Very chill. I'm old school. I like classic rock. I like the Rolling Stones. The Lumineers are really cool. Sade is nice. I like 80s music, too."

And Britney recently described her new music as like a "baby" to her.

She added: "I just know that the direction I'm going in is so good. It's the best thing I've done in a long time. I'm just particular with this record - it's my baby. I'm proud of the work, and it's very different.

"It's not what you would think at all. I'm not rushing anything. I would much rather have it be completely how I want it to be. I just want it to be done right so that my fans will truly appreciate it."

Britney Spears 'comeback' album inspired by Selena Gomez .
Britney Spears paid tribute to singer Selena Gomez for being an inspiration. The 34-year-old released her ninth album last month (Aug16), and dismissed claims she has made a 'comeback' to music. "I don't really see it as a comeback. I've been here for a really long time," she quipped. Britney, who performed for the first time in five years in the U.K. on Tuesday (27Sep16), also confessed Glory was inspired by Selena Gomez's recent Revival tour. "I just love her music. I think she's really great. So I was really, really inspired by her work," Britney said of the Hands to Myself hitmaker. The mother-of-two wowed the crowd at the Apple Music Festival in London, performing hits including Baby One More Time and Oops!.. I Did it Again at the Roundhouse music venue on Tuesday. The star-studded crowd, which included Rita Ora, Radio 1 DJ Nick Grimshaw and model Daisy Lowe, were treated to a high-energy show from the pop queen, who narrowly avoided an embarrassing fall on-stage after performing a back-flip. The gig comes a month after Britney released her ninth studio album, and she wanted to make her latest musical offering really different. "I feel like it's been a while since I brought new music to the table," she explained. "I didn't want to do a typical pop record for this. I wanted to do something really different.
