The broadcaster, 44, also revealed that his involvement has inspired an elderly man to return to the dance classes, which he gave up decades ago after his wife passed away Dan then revealed that Cecil had even started having dancing lessons again after being inspired by watching the broadcaster on Strictly. Strictly Come Dancing star Dan Walker has revealed the subtle connection to Call the Midwife in his American Smooth with partner Nadiya Bychkova two weeks ago.
The BBC presenter's ballroom dance divided the judges, particularly rubbing Craig Revel Horward up the wrong way.
While the audience loved the performance, Craig said it "lacked any feeling", adding: "There was a desperate lack of style throughout the thing… It wasn't for me I'm afraid."
DAN WALKER could be set to leave Strictly Come Dancing this weekend if finds himself in the dreaded dance-off with Rhys Stephenson.

Despite Craig's brutal critique, the other judges and fans alike were impressed by the dance. Co-host Tess Daly called Dan "smoothness" itself and Motsi Mabuse argued it was his "best dance" since the show started.
Anton Du Beke agreed: "I wanted Dan the man. I got Dan the dancer!"
The mixed opinions led to equally mixed scores, with Craig giving the dance partners a 4, while Anton handed out his first 9 of the season.
"A 9 and a 4, I'm not sure that's ever happened before," co-host Claudia Winkelman went on to admit.

On yesterday's episode of The One Show, Dan and Nadiya appeared alongside Call the Midwife legend Jenny Agutter, and Dan divulged the secret connection to their dance.
After a video of Jenny dancing with Ian Waite for a Children in Need special of Strictly back in 2015 was shown, Dan said: "That's actually the same tail suit that I wore for American Smooth, because the only person they had tall enough was Ian Waite so I had to borrow his old tail suit."
The sports journalist is a towering six feet and six inches tall, leading Nadiya to call him "daddy long-legs". But thankfully, Strictly professional Ian Waite almost measures up, at six feet and two inches.
This week (November 27), Dan and Nadiya will dance the Rumba to 'Desperado' by The Eagles. Maybe this time they can win over Craig…
