Sheridan Smith reportedly had a backstage meltdown and threatened to sack her team in a shock row about misogyny amid her appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show.

The entertainer, 40, recently filmed and performed on the ITV chat show alongside Christmas duet partner Gary Barlow, and fellow guests Jeremy Clarkson, Riz Ahmed and Sting - with the episode set to air on Saturday.

But reports suggest that despite seeming in good spirits on camera, the star exploded backstage and made accusations of male chauvinism, with Sheridan said to be livid at her team.

During the show, the Cilla actress was seemingly in a good mood as she plugged her new Christmas single, How Christmas Is Supposed To Be, alongside Take That star Gary, 50.

Amid her chat, she revealed to host Jonathan, 61, that she has filled her home six donkeys and six dogs because she wanted her son Billy to grow up around animals.

The performer admitted her working-class parents never let her have pets so she got 'carried away' buying animals when her son was born.

She said: 'When I was younger we grew up very working class and I begged my mum and dad to let me have animals and they were like "no"... now I have a son who is 17 months old and I think I wanted him to grow up around animals.'
