"We never know for sure what the other will think about a dish."
Gregg, 57, has even admitted that he has never even stepped foot inside John Torode's house that he shares with his actress wife Lisa Faulkner.
BBC MasterChef: Fans fuming about time the show is on and why EastEnders is in the middle of it
An episode of EastEnders was shown in the middle of the hit cooking showFans of the hit cooking show were outraged when the episode was split in half by an episode of the soap which was shown halfway through.
And Gregg has previously said he prefers not attending public events at all.
He toldthat the downside of being a recognised face is that he doesn't get to enjoy these events as a normal person would do.
He said: "I would say I would love to be able to walk along and enjoy the beer the same as everyone else but I can’t because the moment I get out of the car I’m going to get asked for a selfie and that will not stop until I get back in the car. That's not fun for my family.
"I would love to be able to roam up and down like the guests do, I’d love to but that’s not going to happen to me and that is the one drawback of being on the television.
“People that come up and want a selfie, they don’t know because it’s only a couple of minutes but what they don’t realise they are one of hundreds and hundreds that day if you stay in a public place.
"Honestly it's not fun at all but it's the reason I don't go to public events.”
