If you've been watching BBC's Father Brown, you'll probably recognise an actress from Coronation Street who has some big-shot relatives.

Sorcha Cusack, 72, who has been appearing in Father Brown since 2013, has a very famous brother-in-law and nephew.

Her sister is married to 72-year-old academy award-winning actor Jeremy Irons.

Sinead Cusack, who is also an Irish actress, tied the knot with Jeremy in 1978 and they share two sons, Samuel and Max.

Jeremy is recognisable from numerous television and film roles; after making a name for himself as lead roles in West End theatre productions, he went on to win an Oscar for Best Actor in Reversal of Fortune (1990).

He also voiced the villain Scar in Disney's The Lion King (1994) and starred in historical-film dramas such as Kingdom of Heaven (2005) and the fantasy-adventure Eragon (2006).

Jeremy has recently appeared in Assassin's Creed (2016) and portrayed Alfred Pennyworth in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2017) and Zack Snyder's Justice League (2021).

And the big names don't stop there.

Jeremy and Sinead's youngest son, Max, is also a recognisable actor.

The 36-year old first shot to fame in 2011 for starring in the romantic horror film Red Riding Hood.

He then appeared in the BBC historical-fiction drama The White Queen in 2013 as the lead role of Edward IV of England.
