Turns out the charming young actor grew up in Spain for the first 13 years of his life and had a "weird" day job selling "posh dog food" before landing his part in Emmerdale.

And now the ITV soap has appeared to have revealed the actress' character Tracy's soap exit as she is offered a new job in Nottingham in upcoming scenes next week. However, with things between Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter) and Tracy beginning to work out, she’s unsure what to do.

"I absolutely dread talking about myself," Darcy said coyly when asked to introduce himself.

"I suppose the biggest thing that comes to mind that's slightly different about me is that I was quite lucky in that my mum liked to travel a lot, so I lived in Spain for most of my life.

"When people ask where are you from I always waffle on – a little bit like what I'm doing right now – as I'm not really sure how to answer the question because I haven't had that base where I've lived in the same spot."

Darcy continued: "I lived in Spain until I was 13. I was always a bit of an outcast kid. I was the one blue-eyed kid amongst a sea of Spanish children, so I sort of stuck out a bit. It was good fun though."

The actor explained that he moved back to England with his mum when he was 13 and that was when he began his journey into acting. Although, he admits it was a slow process.

In order to make ends meet while he was waiting to land his next part, Darcy took up a slightly unconventional day job.

"I was selling posh dog food. It's the most bizarre thing but it's really good food," the actor revealed.

"It's just such a weird thing to do that I've always been a bit embarrassed by it," he admitted.

However, Darcy said he was grateful for the work: "It saved me after drama school. It meant that I could work on the weekends and make some money and then audition during the week. I'd recommend it to any actors out there. it means you can live and audition without having to constantly worry about how you're going to pay your bills."

The actor also revealed that despite having a good relationship with his father, he didn't grow up around him.
