EastEnders has been quite eventful already this year, and you can expect more shocks next week, as the residents are left horrified by multiple discoveries.

The truth about Aaron Monroe (Charlie Wernham) makes its way around the Square, with Harvey (Ross Boatman) feeling ashamed as a result.

The taxi driver makes a huge decision, as he pays his son a visit and tells him he won’t be coming to see him any more.

Honey Mitchell (Emma Barton), meanwhile, has a brand new venture lined up, but on her very first day, the community is rocked by a loud bang.

BBC EastEnders' Walford actually got its name from these two London towns

BBC EastEnders' Walford actually got its name from these two London towns It makes so much sense when you stop and think about itThe creators of EastEnders probably just woke up one morning and had it pop into their heads, or simply made it up because it sounds plausibly like an English town.

The residents of Walford soon discover that the bang was from a gas explosion at the Argee Bhajee.

Elsewhere, Chelsea Fox (Zaraah Abrahams) is visited by a nurse who recognises evil Gray Atkins (Toby-Alexander Smith) from when he used to attend appointments at the hospital with Chantelle (Jessica Plummer).

She’s horrified to discover that Chantelle is dead, and reaches out to support Chelsea in the wake of her discovery.

It’s all kicking off in Albert Square next week, and if you’d like a first-look at what’s coming up, check out our first-look gallery below.

EastEnders airs these scenes w/c Monday January 31 on BBC One.
