Stranger Things' Joseph Quinn Explains Why Playing Eddie Made Him Feel Like A 'Sociopath' At Times

Stranger Things' Joseph Quinn Explains Why Playing Eddie Made Him Feel Like A 'Sociopath' At Times Stranger Things star Joseph Quinn reveals why he felt like a sociopath at times while playing Eddie Munson. While the actor is British, his character was American, so Quinn had to nail his American accent perfectly.

Metal legends Metallica headlined the first night of Lollapalooza 2022 in Chicago's Grant Park on Thursday.

And while the band played many of their most recognizable hits like Enter Sandman, Nothing Else Matters and One, they would close out the blistering set with a rousing rendition of Master Of Puppets, complete with a cameo from the Stranger Things character Eddie Munson playing on the large screen behind them.

The clip was taken from the hit show's season four finale where Eddie, played by Joseph Quinn, 29, shreds a version of the song.

The love fest between Metallica and Stranger Things didn't end there, as Quinn would go backstage before their headlining show and meet the band, and then jam out, for real, on Master Of Puppets.

Joseph Quinn Was Detained—and Freed!—At a U.S. Airport All thanks to an officer who recognized him as the 'Stranger Things' legend, Eddie Munson.Well, there's a new episode of The Life and Times of Joseph Quinn. This week, Quinn—in an appearance on The Tonight Show—told Jimmy Fallon that he nearly missed the interview, because U.S. immigration detained him at the airport. “I was taken into, I guess you could call it more of a dungeon," Quinn said. "And I was asked to wait there for about 20 minutes and then I was summoned to this desk where someone asked me, ‘What are you doing in the United States, sir?’ I said, ‘I’m actually here to meet Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show. And he didn’t believe me.

The meet and greet and jam session was all documented in a video that was posted on Metallica's Instagram page.

'Hey there, I am backstage at Lollapalooza about to meet Metallica,' Quinn says off the top of the video.

The British-born actor then proceeds to introduce himself to each of the band members that includes James Hetfield (vocal, guitar), Lars Ulrich (drums), Kirk Hammett (guitar) and Robert Trujillo (bass).

It didn't take long before Hetfield confessed he's the big Stranger Things fan.

'I'm the big fan of it and have been since season one,' he tells Quinn, who is more than flattered by his support.

Before becoming a famous actor, Idris Elba was a successful musician and DJ known as DJ Big Driis. In fact, he remains a regular at major music events around the world, presenting his hip-hop, house, and electronic sets. What’s more, Idris recently announced his plans to put cinema aside and devote himself exclusively to his DJ career.

'Thanks for doing it justice, by the way. You definitely did,' Hetfield shoots back in a reference to his performance.

Quinn goes on to reveal that Metallica is all he's listened to for the past two years

'Yea, I feel very connected to you guys,' the actor adds.

It's at this point that Trujillo suggests that they all go jam together, for which Quinn confessed that he 'may be rusty and need a lesson.'

Stranger Things’ Gaten Matarazzo On How Eddie’s Death Might Affect Dustin And His Friendship With Steve In Season 5

Stranger Things’ Gaten Matarazzo On How Eddie’s Death Might Affect Dustin And His Friendship With Steve In Season 5 Stranger Things star Gaten Matarazzo shared his thoughts on how Eddie's death might affect Dustin in the upcoming fifth and final season. Before Eddie came into the picture, Dustin’s friendship with Joe Keery’s Steve was easily one of the biggest plusses about Stranger Things, so much so that a Dustin and Steve spin-off has been discussed. Given how quickly Dustin latched onto Joseph Quinn’s Eddie, who took the strapping young lads under his misunderstood wing at school, fans can probably expect the character to have all kinds of friendship-related emotions going in the upcoming season.

The scenario switches to the tuning room where Ulrich takes the lead and tells Quinn he will give a four count and go straight into the opening riffs of Master Of Puppets.

The actor was focused at certain points, and then all smiles as he lived out his rock and roll dream.

After a blistering rendition, Hetfield yells out, 'Your hired,' which Ulrich follows suit and stares into the camera to announce that 'Metallica are now a five-piece guys'.

Metallica are officially the biggest metal band of the past 40 years, based on ticket sales

Metallica are officially the biggest metal band of the past 40 years, based on ticket sales No metal band has sold more concert tickets than Metallica across the past four decades, a new Pollstar report declaresThe report, commissioned and published to commemorate Pollstar's 40th anniversary, states that the band formed by James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich in Los Angeles in 1981 have sold a staggering 19,468,173 tickets across the last 40 years: these statistics factor in only stand-alone headline shows, and not the scores of festivals which the metal superstars have headlined since becoming a stadium-filling act with 1991's 'Black Album'.

The band proceeded to present the actor with a guitar that they would all sign.

The video ended with clips of Metallica rocking out at the first night of Lollapalooza.

'Glad to see you right side up, @josephquinn,' the band wrote in the caption of the Instagram post. 'Thanks for coming to jam with us backstage at @lollapalooza.'
