Cult film with Sylvester Stallone finally celebrates his home theater comeback: Action fans have been waiting for this for years!

Director James Gunn wrote the part with Stallone in mind and the actor agreed to take on the role after working with the filmmaker on 'Guardians of the Galaxy'. Stallone featured in an all-star ensemble cast that included Margot Robbie, Idris Elba and John Cena. The Hollywood action man has been battling producer Irwin Winkler to regain the rights to the boxing franchise after writing and starring in the hit 1976 original as well as its sequels - and now he's lashed out over plans for a new film with Dolph reprising his 'Rocky IV' role as Rocky Balboa's boxer nemesis Ivan Drago.

In a post on Instagram, Stallone shared screenshots of the film's announcement and wrote: "Once again, Irwin Winkler, this pathetic 94 year old producer and his moronic vulture children, Charles And David, are once again picking clean the bones of another wonderful character I created without even telling me ...
"I apologise to the fans, I never wanted 'Rocky' characters to be exploited by these parasites …. By the way, I once had nothing but respect for Dolph but he never told me about what was going on behind my back with the character I created for him!!! Real friends are more precious than gold."
Stallone went on to add a picture which showed Winkler as a vampire sucking the blood of Rocky Balboa and wrote in the caption: "After Irwin Winkler and family suck 'Rocky' dry! ... Presumed to be the most hated, untalented, decrepited (sic) producer in Hollywood and his cowardly children have found their next meal … Drago, returned my rights bloodsuckers! ... "

His face is paralysed on one side
During birth, Stallone’s mother suffered complications and the obstetricians had to pull her son using forceps. However, they were placed incorrectly and caught a nerve that caused Stallone’s lower left side of his face to become paralysed. It affects his lip, chin and tongue, causing his signature snarl and slurred speech.

After being kicked out of numerous schools, Stallone eventually graduated high school and went to college at the American College of Switzerland. Whilst there, he also worked as a gym teacher and dorm bouncer in addition to selling hamburgers on campus.

He was once homeless
Before he saw the casting notice for the adult film, Stallone was sleeping at a bus terminal in New York for three weeks. He said: “It was either do that movie or rob someone, because I was at the end – the very end – of my rope.”

He was fired from his job as a cinema usher
After moving to New York, Stallone took a number of odd jobs including a movie theater usher. However, he was fired after his manager caught him scalping tickets. Stallone also worked as a cleaner at a zoo.

He wrote Rocky in three days
Stallone saw the Muhammad Ali versus Chuck Wepner fight in 1975 and was inspired to write a film about boxing, focusing on an underdog character. He went home and wrote ‘Rocky’ in three days and 20 straight hours, the movie launched his Hollywood career and the drama went on to win the Best Picture Oscar in 1977.

He turned down Romancing the Stone
In an attempt to avoid being typecast following the success of ‘Rocky’, Stallone took on the role of an aspiring country singer in ‘Rhinestone’. However, at the time, he was also offered the lead role in ‘Romancing the Stone’ but turned it down to star in ‘Rhinestone’. He later regretted his decision after ‘Romancing the Stone’ banked $115 million at the box office.

The former bodybuilder tricked Stallone to take sign onto the film ‘Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot’ when it was rumoured Schwarzenegger was set to play the lead. The film was ultimately a box office bomb and Stallone - who had a friendly rivalry throughout the '80s and '90s with his fellow action hero - blamed the Arnie for his sneaky tactics. Stallone said: “I heard Arnold wanted to do that movie and after hearing that, I said I wanted to do it. He tricked me. He’s always been clever.”

Sly has three daughters, Sistine, Sophia and Scarlet, with his third wife, former model Jennifer Flavin. The three girls are all making waves in the acting and fashion industries, as well as being smart business women. The 'Cobra' actor also had two sons, Sage and Seargeoh, with his first wife Sasha Czack. Sage tragically died aged 36 from heart disease. Seargeoh - born in 1979 - was diagnosed with autism at an early age and lives a private life with his family.

Lundgren later responded to the posts by sharing a picture of the two actors together and insisted he thought Stallone was involved in the new movie project.
The 64-year-old 'Masters of the Universe' star wrote: "Just to set the record straight regarding a possible 'Drago' spinoff. There’s no approved script, no deals in place, no director and I was personally under the impression that my friend Sly Stallone was involved as a producer or even as an actor,
"There was a press leak last week which was unfortunate. In touch with Mr Balboa - just so all the fans can relax …There ya go."
'Rocky' was a huge hit after its release in 1976 - scoring big at the box office and winning three Oscars including the coveted Best Picture gong. Stallone was nominated for Best Actor for his portrayal of boxer Rocky Balboa and for Best Screenplay for his writing. He went on to star in four 'Rocky' sequels as well as 2006's 'Rocky Balboa' and he landed another Oscar nomination for his role in 2015 spin-off movie 'Creed' in which he revived his boxer character once again.
The character of Drago debuted in 1985's 'Rocky IV' and went on to make further appearances in 'Rocky V' in 1990 as well as spin-off sequel 'Creed II'.
