Britney Spears paid tribute to singer Selena Gomez for being an inspiration.

The 34-year-old released her ninth album last month (Aug16), and dismissed claims she has made a 'comeback' to music. "I don't really see it as a comeback. I've been here for a really long time," she quipped.

Britney, who performed for the first time in five years in the U.K. on Tuesday (27Sep16), also confessed Glory was inspired by Selena Gomez's recent Revival tour.

"I just love her music. I think she's really great. So I was really, really inspired by her work," Britney said of the Hands to Myself hitmaker.

The mother-of-two wowed the crowd at the Apple Music Festival in London, performing hits including Baby One More Time and Oops!.. I Did it Again at the Roundhouse music venue on Tuesday. The star-studded crowd, which included Rita Ora, Radio 1 DJ Nick Grimshaw and model Daisy Lowe, were treated to a high-energy show from the pop queen, who narrowly avoided an embarrassing fall on-stage after performing a back-flip.

Britney Spears blames herself for concert backflip meltdown

Britney Spears blames herself for concert backflip meltdown Britney Spears suffered a slip up onstage in London on Tuesday night (27Sep16) when she lost her confidence just before a backflip routine. The pop star brought a stripped-down version of her Piece of Me Las Vegas show to London's Roundhouse venue as part of the Apple Music Festival and among many missteps, the Toxic singer appeared to lose her nerve during a signature move. Britney was asked about her return to the London stage during a BBC chat on Wednesday (28Sep16), and when the botched backflip came up, she confessed she suddenly had a mini-panic attack onstage. "I freaked out," she said. "I put my hands up and there was a new guy there. "Usually I have my signature guy who helps me with it, every night for the past three years. But it was this new guy." "It wasn't his first day but it was his first time to touch my back and I couldn't do it," Spears added. "He's actually more muscly than the (usual) guy and I should've been more confident." The slip-up didn't upset fans, who included Sam Smith and Rita Ora - they were thrilled as Britney ripped through her greatest hits, including Baby One More Time, Toxic and Womanizer. The concert at the Roundhouse was Britney's first London concert in five years. The superstar has previously spoken about her ongoing battle with nerves onstage, telling the UK edition of Marie Claire magazine in a recent interview she has battled anxiety for years. “If a hair was out of place, I’d be so anxious," she revealed. "I would get very anxious about so many things.

The gig comes a month after Britney released her ninth studio album, and she wanted to make her latest musical offering really different.

"I feel like it's been a while since I brought new music to the table," she explained. "I didn't want to do a typical pop record for this. I wanted to do something really different."

Britney, who is currently at the helm of a hugely successful Las Vegas residency at the Planet Hollywood Resort, also revealed who would be her dream musical collaborator.

"I love Steven Tyler; he's great. He's like rock'n'roll man, like just crazy cool. I think he exudes sex and electricity and you're just like a magnet when you get next to him," she said.

"I would love to work with Lenny Kravitz. I think he's great; he's a legend," Britney added.

Britney Spears was on Loose Women and it was brilliant viewing .
"Are you guys really Loose Women?" UmmmmIt's not every day we get to see Britney Spears appear on daytime television, but today's Loose Women was an absolute treat thanks to a brilliant, if slightly bizarre, episode featuring Brit.
