Pellegrini's arrival could secure Mario return

Pellegrini's arrival could secure Mario return West Ham’s chances of re-signing Joao Mario lie with appointing the right manager, reports the Daily Star. If the East London club appoints Manuel Pellegrini like expected, it would enhance their chances of bringing the Portuguese player back to them this summer. The star power the Chilean holds would indicate the Hammers are set for a better season ahead and tempt Mario to want to return to the London Stadium. The 25-year-old went to the club on loan in January, making 13 appearances and scoring two goals in that time. His agent, Kia Joorabchian, is trying to gain his client a move away from Inter Milan and has already held talks with Manchester United. The Red Devils are looking to spend money to rival Manchester City next season, and a strong World Cup from Mario could see him move to Old Trafford. West Ham fans will want him back, and doing that would show real signs of intent going into next season.

A group of Texas gamers took their community by surprise as they played a real-life game of "Mario Kart" on the street.

The seven "players" dressed in character outfits with balloons trailing behind them, just like in the game, and raced one another on skateboards in Austin.

Patrick Lyons, who was one of the players, captured the funny moment on video, and posted it to his YouTube page.

“It was [9 a.m.] on a Monday morning, and all of sudden these guys sitting down on electric skateboards go zooming by dressed like Mario Kart characters with balloons on their backs,” Lyons said. "It was a really strange sight, but college kids are familiar enough with Mario Kart to know exactly what it was, so it got reactions of appreciation and laughter overall.

Many people who looked on were laughing and capturing the game on Snapchat.

"I was just so happy that we'd pulled it off — I'd had the idea for a while because I actually ride my board sitting down normally, but it wasn't until I started meeting other people with electric boards that I knew we could pull off this Mario Kart effect," Lyons said.

Joao Mario denies claims he rejected a move to Chelsea .
West Ham and Tottenham target Joao Mario has been forced to deny claims that he rejected a move to Chelsea this summer because of Maurizio Sarri. Reports emerging out of Italy late in the transfer window from FCInterNews claimed that the player had been offered to the Blues, but turned down a move to Stamford Bridge. It had been claimed that the rejection was due to the new Italian head coach, but Mario took to Twitter, as reported by Calciomercato, to deny these claims. Twitter: Ma c’è qualcuno che crede che questo è vero ? immaginazione si, ma questo è troppo. https://t.co/sZDUS777w8 (@joaome17) The tweet roughly translates to: “But is there anyone who believes that this is true? imagination yes, but this is too much.” Mario was heavily linked with a move back to the Premier League throughout the summer, with West Ham and Tottenham expressing an interest in the Portuguese international. He is once again expected to leave Inter before the closing of the European transfer window, with the Italians hoping to cash in on the player. A loan move away from the San Siro appears more likely, with Sevilla and Sporting both interested in the player.
