"Dani is a very experienced MotoGP rider. He not only looks at the lap time, but what needs to be changed for the race distance. Due to his height, he only ever had a certain amount of strength for the race. In this aspect he is really, very good."

racing teams can concentrate on the race weekend

Especially in the first two years of the MotoGP project, the racing team was almost like a test team, as new parts were constantly being tried out. Since Pedrosa joined as a test driver in 2019, the division of tasks has become clearer and the racing teams have been relieved.

Since KTM is no longer a "Concession Team", the testing of parts will also decrease over the course of a race weekend. This can have positive aspects if the drivers and engineers can concentrate solely on getting the most out of them.

"It will bring some calm, because what we did in the first four years can hardly be expected of the team," said Beirer. "The drivers will also be able to concentrate more on driving and less on development. That will be good for the race result."

"It will also be good for the technicians that they can test the parts in peace. When the new motorcycle arrives in November, it will be ready. We are already enjoying it when we get to the same rhythm as our colleagues . "
