Sanches has picked up an injury while away with Portugal but Clement says it is a minor issue which will not sideline the 20-year-old for long.

Speaking to the media on Friday, Clement reported: "We have just got one issue from international duty, Renato Sanches is a big doubt for the weekend.

Swansea v Huddersfield preview

Swansea v Huddersfield preview Swansea will make a late decision on Wilfried Bony's fitness ahead of their Premier League clash with Huddersfield on Saturday. Bony, who has been troubled by a nerve problem in his calf which has caused him to experience tightness in his hamstring, faces a race against time to be fit for a clash that already seems crucial to the Swans' survival hopes. One victory so far, over bottom side Crystal Palace, means Swansea are languishing in the relegation zone.

Yet, as Clement describes it, Sanches never really accepted the step down from Bayern to the Swans . 'I have no doubt that eventually he will come back good. If he has managed that level as an 18, 19-year-old, it's The biggest question for Sanches is where he can get his career back on track.

Renato Sanches has failed to impress at Swansea City this season on loan. But since his big -money switch from Benfica to the Bundesliga giants and clinching the Golden Boy award, he has failed to push on and was sent to the South Wales club on loan to gain more experience.

"He had a second scan today and we are waiting for further news."

A Euro 2016 winner with Portugal, Sanches was a high profile arrival transfer window arrival at Swansea from Bayern Munich.

He has made four starts and one sub appearance so far for the Swans and Clement thinks he is starting to find his stride.

He added: "Disappointing (Sanches is injured), because with each game that he has played for us, he has improved.

"His fitness is improving and it will be a short-term injury.

"If he does miss this weekend, it is highly probable he will be available for next weekend."

Clement added that Kyle Bartley remains absent with a medium-term injury but otherwise he has his squad in "pretty good shape".
