Lacazette reveals Sanchez's role in his move to Arsenal

Lacazette reveals Sanchez's role in his move to Arsenal Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette has been discussing Alexis Sanchez’s influence in his decision to join the club, Goal report. The France international finally secured a move to the Gunners in the summer for a club-record fee claimed to be in the region of £50m. He has since impressed, netting four goals in his first seven Premier League games. Lacazette has been quoted as insisting that playing with players of Sanchez’s calibre was a fundamental reason for him choosing to make the switch to the Emirates in the summer. “That’s one of the reasons why I wanted to come to Arsenal – to play with players of [Alexis’] calibre. Just seeing him in training, I like the way he plays and his mental attitude.” “His approach makes me want to play alongside him – hopefully for many years.” Sanchez himself has been at the heart of much controversy. He saw a deadline day move to Manchester City fall through at the last hurdle after Arsenal failed to sign Thomas Lemar for £92 million from Monaco. However, his contract is quickly running down, and it appears as though both Sanchez and Mesut Ozil will depart the club in the summer for free unless they are snapped up in January.

Kieran Gibbs  left Arsenal for West Brom in the summer after ten years with the Gunners. The 28 year old struggled for game time in North London but looks like he will be a big player for the Baggies but he has a lot of work to do to master Tony Pulis‘ philosophy.

Having ArsèneWenger as his manager for a decade, Gibbs’ style of play will be based around possession and attacking play. It is one extreme to the other being at West Brom, with Pulis focusing on his side being defensively organised.

One of Gibbs’ main weaknesses at Arsenal was defending so it may surprise some that he has been brought in to West Brom‘s side but Pulis is keen to develop him and use his experience to push his team to the next level.

Gibbs is aware of the challenge ahead, having said Pulis “focuses more on the opposition because we are not always going to dominate every game.”

Despite the culture change, Gibbs will see this as an opportunity to mature and improve. The left-back said “The more training I do when the opposition has the ball more, it can only improve me as a player.” And what better time to prove your worth with a World Cup coming up?

Ozil sets his sights on Old Trafford switch .
Mesut Ozil is said to favour a summer move to Manchester United and is willing to wait until the end of the season to leave Arsenal. According to the Daily Mail, Ozil has set his sights on a summer switch to Old Trafford to reunite with Mourinho, who he worked with at Real Madrid. The German international is out of contract and can leave Arsenal for nothing this summer, but could also be sold in January if the Gunners want to recoup some money from the player. Italian side Inter are also said to be interested in a deal for Ozil, but the German could now hold off until the summer. Ozil, alongside Alexis Sanchez, were both linked with moves away from the club over the summer but Arsene Wenger dug his heels in and refused to sell. The Frenchman now looks set to lose both players, possibly for nothing, in the summer to rival clubs.
