Motherwell have won four of their last six games under Stephen Robinson and will look for their first win in nearly two years against Celtic. When the sides last met just under a year ago, Celtic came from behind to edge out Motherwell in a seven goal thriller at Fir Park. Celtic Mikael Lustig went off injured inside 13 minutes in Paris on Wednesday night and will miss Sunday’s Cup final. Nir Bitton will undergo a late fitness test after picking up a knock in the midweek loss to PSG. Patrick Roberts travelled to Paris and is building up fitness as he recovers from a hamstring injury of his own and could return to the squad on Sunday. Erik Sviatchenko is fully fit but has yet to return to the squad and has fallen down the pecking order behind Nir Bitton in defence. Anthony Ralston remains out with a knee problem that has kept him out of action since the end of September. Motherwell The Steelmen have no injuries going into the game. Youngster Allan Campbell was rested at the weekend and could return to the starting line up having started in nine of his 12 appearances this season.

Celtic are on the road once again as they travel to Fir Park on Wednesday night to face Motherwell just three days after their League Cup triumph.

The Hoops beat Stephen Robinson’s men 2-0 at the weekend as Brendan Rodgers lifted his fourth consecutive domestic trophy at the club.

Motherwell will also travel to Glasgow on Saturday to face the top of the table side, in an unprecedented triple-header in just six days.

They currently sit fifth in the league table, and will be looking to bounce back from the disappointment at the weekend with a strong performance at home.

Celtic

Moussa Dembele will miss the game through injury, and could miss next week’s crucial Champions League clash with Anderlecht.

Nir Bitton will also miss Wednesday’s trip after picking up a knock in last week’s loss to PSG having also missed the win on Sunday.

Motherwell

The Steelmen have no fresh injuries going into the game.

Cedric Kipre was red carded at the weekend in the League Cup final but will be free to face the league champions as his ban will carry over into next season.

Having finished in third place in their Champions League group, Brendan Rodgers’ men earned a place in European competition in the New Year and they’ll already be looking forward to the double header with Celtic’s UEFA Cup run under Martin O’Neill is still spoken of to this day and Hoops fans across the world will be hoping that the current squad are able to emulate that one again under Rodgers.
