Jose Mourinho believes that title race is over .
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has revealed that he believes the Premier League title race is “over” after his side were defeated by current leaders Manchester City at Old Trafford, according to a report on the Daily Mail. The Red Devils lost 2-1 against their arch-rivals to give City an 11 point lead at the top of the table, also leaving them unbeaten so far this campaign. When asked if he thinks the title race is already over before Christmas, Mourinho replied: “Probably, yes.” However, the Portuguese praised for City, who outplayed United throughout the whole match but managed to score two scrappy goals. “They scored two goals which were quite unbelievable to concede. They scored two goals out of nothing with rebounds. Two easy goals.” “I think they are a very good team, [but] they are lucky, they have decisions in their favour” The big teams who are behind City will try their best to reduce the gap, but ultimately they will all be fighting for a UEFA Champions League position as you simply can’t see City dropping points at the moment. United will need to regroup quickly as they face AFC Bournemouth at Old Trafford on Wednesday evening.
