Liverpool 3-0 Southampton: Three Stars

Liverpool 3-0 Southampton: Three Stars Following Liverpool’s comfortable 3-0 win against Southampton, I will be saying who my three standout performers were for the Reds. Mohamed Salah – Undoubtedly the man of the match. The Egyptian’s brace saw him take the lead in the race for the league’s golden boot. He was outstanding yesterday. His all round game was brilliant. Salah’s relentless pressing and determination to win the ball impressed me massively. His first goal was a moment of genius, something the game looked as if it needed. His second goal was a very intelligent run and then latched onto the ball with his blistering pace and finished it calmly. Salah loves a give and go with his team mates and because of how quick he is, the Southampton players couldn’t get near him. He must be serious trouble to have to mark. He was took off towards the end of the game so couldn’t quite get his first hat-trick for the Reds. There was a standing ovation from the whole of Anfield for a player who has stolen the fan’s hearts. Philippe Coutinho – He looked at his best yesterday. Coutinho came in with an assist and a goal and performed brilliantly in the win. The assist for Salah’s second was the best of Philippe Coutinho. He’s often criticised, mostly by other fans, for not providing enough assists. When he does assist, they always seem to be magic, which just sums the Brazillian up. Coutinho’s goal was well taken too.

Liverpool star Mohamed Salah is a target for LaLiga and Champions League holders Real Madrid, claimed Egypt head coach Hector Cuper.

Salah has been a revelation since arriving from Serie A outfit Roma in the off-season, scoring 17 goals in all competitions.

The Egypt international – who will feature at the 2018 World Cup in Russia – was unable to add to his 12 Premier League goals as Liverpool crushed Brighton and Hove Albion 5-1 Saturday.

Then Cuper revealed Zinedine Zidane's Madrid want to prise the 25-year-old forward away from Anfield.

"I have been told in confidence that Real Madrid are interested in Salah, but we aren't going to get worked up about it," Cuper said in quotes attributed to On Sports TV.

"For me, it is an incredible situation at this point in time."

Salah will link up with Cuper at the World Cup, where Egypt have been drawn in Group A to face hosts Russia, Saudi Arabia and Uruguay.

Klopp: Salah must continue his form .
Liverpool’s record signing Mohamed Salah has been sensational this season, netting 20 goals in all competitions this season. He has been an integral player for the Reds since signing. In Liverpool’s rampant win over AFC Bournemouth earlier this afternoon, Salah scored his 14th Premier League goal as his red hot form continued. Jurgen Klopp, as quoted by the Independent, has highlighted to Salah the importance of him keeping up this magical form for the remainder of the season. Salah has arguably been the signing of the season in the Premier League but Klopp is wary that this is just the beginning for the Egyptian as he looks to build on his fine start at Anfield. Speaking about the summer signing following his impressive first half of the campaign, Klopp expressed his thoughts. “I do not go to bed at night, thinking ‘wow how good is Salah? He is a very important player for us, like all of the others. It is only halfway through the season. I am looking forward that he stays in that shape, still plays like this.” “Mo knows how much I respect and like him. He is finding it easy at the moment to finish situations.” Liverpool put in a brilliant performance at the Vitality Stadium as goals from Philippe Coutinho, Dejan Lovren, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino helped them back into the top four ahead of their trip to the Emirates to face Arsenal on Friday night. Klopp also said that his side have still got plenty to play for despite being a long way off league leaders Manchester City. “We have so much to play for. It’s unbelievable how many points you will probably need at the end of the season to get anything.” ““Everybody is winning up there very often so we need to carry on all the time and stay on track. It feels like a lot of teams are in good shape.
