The Derry Journal, who cite Football Insider, claim that both teams are keen to sign the youngster.

Hendry has impressed in games against both Celtic and Rangers already this season, leaving them considering a move for the player.

The defender came through the ranks at Partick Thistle but despite his tender age, has been on the move a lot throughout his career.

He has spent time at Wigan, Shrewsbury and MK Dons before moving back to Scotland in the summer, signing a two-year deal with Dundee.

Hendry has been ever-present for Dundee in the Scottish Premiership this season.

Celtic are currently seven points clear at the top of the league but have been linked with several January moves as they look to build on another strong start to their campaign.

Hamilton haven’t won a game since their trip to Ibrox last month and currently sit ninth in the league table. Celtic Patrick Roberts will be out until 2018 with a hamstring that has plagued him since his return to Glasgow at the end of August.
