Summer offers from the Premier League for Dembele confirmed

Summer offers from the Premier League for Dembele confirmed Celtic striker Moussa Dembele had offers from two Premier League clubs in the summer, with Swansea City and West Ham United both making offers for the player, HITC quote L’Equipe in a report. After joining from Fulham last summer for the small fee of £500,000, the 21-year-old found the back of the net on 32 occasions in his dream debut season, attracting plenty of interest over the summer. According to L’Equipe, Dembele was the subject of offers from a number of Premier League sides. The report states that Brendan Rodgers’ side were forced to fend off ‘concrete interest’ from both West Ham and Swansea in August, as they managed to keep hold of their star striker. With interest from top European sides increasing, Rodgers has a big task on his hands in trying to keep hold of Dembele for a further 12 months, with Celtic preparing to receive plenty of offers in the upcoming windows.

Brighton & Hove Albion have made Celtic’s Moussa Dembélé a key January target as they look to secure a striker who can help to guarantee them a further season Everton passed up the opportunity to bid for Dembélé in the summer, following the sale of Romelu Lukaku to Manchester United.

Brighton are being robbed should wait and get him cheaper in Boxing Day sale. He’s not their best player at all. Clearly haven’t watched Celtic or Dembele at all this season have you.

Brighton & Hove Albion have reportedly seen Celtic’s Moussa Dembele as their number one transfer target in January, as per the Daily Mail.

Brighton are in need of more goals, scoring just 14 so far this campaign, with no side above the Seagulls scoring fewer than that.

Chris Hughton was said to have been after Tottenham Hotspur’s Vincent Janssen in the summer to lead the front line. However, he has gone on loan from Spurs to Fenerbahce for the season.

Strikers for Brighton include Glenn Murray, who is Albion’s top scorer with five and Tomer Hemed, who is struggling for minutes under his belt in the English top flight.

Brendan Rodgers looks for positives after Celtic lose 7-1 against PSG

Brendan Rodgers looks for positives after Celtic lose 7-1 against PSG Boss Brendan Rodgers claims Celtic's 7-1 Champions League defeat by Paris St Germain brought more encouragement than their seven-goal thrashing by Barcelona last season. Former PSG youth player Moussa Dembele fired the Hoops into a stunning first-minute lead in the Parc des Princes but that served only to rile the home side, who reacted to the loss of the first goal in the Champions League in style.

Brighton broke their transfer record to capture Jose Izquierdo from Club Brugge in the summer for £13.5m, but the Dembele deal would see them break that record again.

Hughton is reportedly going to offer Brendan Rodgers £20m for the young Frenchman, but Celtic value him at £30m, so the fee is yet to be agreed.

Dembele this season, although hit by injury, has still been providing the Hoops with goals, netting two braces in four days at Pittodrie and Easter Road.

He also scored in the recent League Cup Final win over Motherwell and the early opener in Paris, so Brighton would certainly be getting a goalscorer.

However, whether Dembele goes in January or not is another matter. The 21-year-old has his whole career ahead of him, but it is to be seen if the wanted man will remain in Glasgow.

Hughton admits he'd love to sign Dembélé .
Brighton boss Chris Hughton admits that he would love to sign Celtic’s Moussa Dembélé, describing him as a “very good player”. The Seagulls are being linked with a £20million offer for the French striker in January as they look to secure their Premier League status. Since signing for Brendan Rodgers’ side in 2016, Dembélé has scored 40 goals in 67 games in all competitions, including a hat-trick in last season’s 5-1 over bitter rivals Rangers. Having enjoyed a hugely successful first season in the Scottish Premier League, the 21-year old has been linked with a flurry of clubs, some of which include Manchester United, Marseille, Everton, Chelsea, Monaco and Arsenal. Talking about the player, Hughton praised him highly, but refused to go into detail about another club’s player. He said; “He’s a very good player and has had a very good season but he’s not our player.” “He’s one of probably 100 names you could mention that if I had an opportunity to want them, then you probably would.” “But he’s not our player, like anyone else you could throw into the mix.” “We’ll work as hard as we can in this period of time leading into January.” “If anything happens in January, it will happen because it is right and the processes leading into it would be right.
