'We need to add quality' - Moyes seeks midfield reinforcements for West Ham The Hammers boss insists the club needs to invest in midfielders during the January transfer window to build a competitive squad .The Hammers were bundled out of the EFL Cup quarter-finals on Tuesday as they failed to register a shot on target in a 1-0 defeat away to Arsenal.Teenagers Declan Rice and Domingos Quina both started in the middle while the likes of Joe Hart and Javier Hernandez also earned opportunities. While disappointed with his side's defending for Danny Welbeck's scrappy first-half winner, Moyes believes his problems can be solved further afield.

Javier Hernandez looks likely to return to West Ham ’s squad for Saturday’s home London derby against Chelsea . Hernandez has been out of action for almost five weeks after suffering a hamstring injury but has been in full training for a week and should be available.

Hernandez to make WorldSBK debut with Pedercini in 2018

Hernandez to make WorldSBK debut with Pedercini in 2018 Former grand prix rider Yonny Hernandez will make his debut in the World Superbike Championship next season after signing a deal with the Pedercini Kawasaki team. After losing his ride in MotoGP due to a poor season in 2016 with the AsparDucati squad, Hernandez returned to the Moto2 class with the AGR Team for year. However, the Colombian found the going tough in the intermediate 600cc class and managed just three points scoring finishes before he was dropped by the Spanish team during the summer break. Hernandez wound up entering the BolD’or, the opening round of the 2017/’18 Endurance World Championship, with the official Honda squad. Despite being a rookie in the series, Hernandez adapted to the 1000ccFirebladeSP2 well to help team-mate’s Gregory LeBland and SebastienGimbert secure third in the gruelling 24-hour race. Hernandez then stood in at Pedercini for the Jerez test last month, adding to the speculation that the Colombian would be stepping over to WorldSBK for 2018. The deal was confirmed with the publishing of the provisional enrty list for next season, which reveals a 21-strong grid for the series’ 31st year. Elsewhere in the WorldSBK paddock, former Althea BMW rider RaffaeleDe Rosa will step down to the World Supersport class with MVAgusta alongside ex-Grillini rider AyrtonBadovini – who missed the final round of the year in Qatar due to injury. De Rosa’s place with the Althea team – who has scaled back to a one-rider effort for 2018 as BMW’s sole representative – has been taken by WorldSBK returnee Loris Baz, who comes back to the series following three years in MotoGP.

West Ham have been goal-shy to say the very least this season, netting just 13 times in 15 games in the Premier League.

Hernandez has scored four goals since his £16m summer move from Bundesliga outfit Bayer Leverkusen, with a lack of service proving to be an issue for the nippy Mexican international.
