"I was tired after the back-to-back. A day off always helps," Porzingis told reporters in Miami Friday, via ESPN.

He was feeling so good he was in a joking mood.

"It was a strategy to make the Miami Heat relax a little bit. 'Oh he's tired.' That's why I did it," Porzingis said. "I feel good today. Don't tell them.''

The 22-year-old Knicks star is coming off of his worst two-game stretch of the season as he scored a combined 29 points in losses to the Wizards and the Spurs. New York is in the midst of one of their toughest stretches of the year with 11 of their next 14 games coming on the road.

Fortunately for the Knicks and Porzingis just seven of those games are against playoff teams. It doesn't necessarily mean they will win more games, but the gauntlet they are about to go through on the road would be a lot worse with better competition.
