BOSTON (AP) — Patrice Bergeron had four goals and an assist, surpassing 700 points for his career while leading the Boston Bruins to a 7-1 rout of the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday night.

Patrice Bergeron scored four goals for the first time in his legendary career with the Bruins and the Perfection Line (Marchand, Bergeron and Pastrnak) combined for five goals, 12 goals and a plus-11 in a 7-1 thrashing over the Hurricanes at TD Garden.

Patrice Bergeron scored four goals to power the Boston Bruins to a 7-1 win against the Carolina Hurricanes.

His third goal marked the second hat-trick of his NHL career, while his final one made him the 16th Bruins player on record to net four goals in a game.

Riley Nash, David Pastrnak and Jake DeBrusk scored the other three goals for their third straight victory.

There were also seven goals for the Colorado Avalanche, who surged to their fifth consecutive win by beating the Minnesota Wild.

The game finished 7-3, with Carl Soderberg scoring two powerplay goals for the Avalanche.

The Ottawa Senators scored three consecutive goals in the third period to beat the Tampa Bay Lightning 6-3 and Austin Watson scored two goals for the Nashville Predators in a 4-3 victory over the Los Angeles Kings.

Elsewhere, the Philadelphia Flyers ended the St Louis Blues' three-game winning streak in a game which ended 6-3 and the Dallas Stars defeated the Edmonton Oilers 5-1.
